OVERVIEW 

This new Asset Protection ORC Manager role will be based out the Beverly Hills headquarters and will support the Asset Protection function. We are seeking an experienced Organized Retail Crime Manager to lead and execute complex investigations for Alo retail sanctuaries. This role is responsible for identifying, investigating, and preventing large-scale external theft, fraud, and organized retail crime operations that impact company assets. The ideal candidate will have strong investigative skills, experience working with law enforcement, and the ability to analyze data to drive strategic loss prevention initiatives. This role will play a key part in developing and enhancing the company's ORC program, helping to establish best practices, build investigative frameworks, and implement new strategies to combat organized retail crime on a broader scale.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist in designing, implementing, and evolving the company's ORC program, creating structured investigative processes and industry-leading strategies.
  • Initiate, develop, and manage complex ORC investigations across the company.
  • Utilize various tools, including exception-based reporting, intelligence platforms, online sales monitoring, and remote video reviews, to detect and investigate organized theft and fraud.
  • Build and package ORC cases, ensuring thorough documentation and retention of evidence, including video footage, for prosecution.
  • Identify emerging ORC threats and develop proactive countermeasures to mitigate risks.
  • Conduct field surveillance (both static and mobile) to determine the scope of investigations and aid in case resolution.
  • Maintain accurate case records and provide weekly updates on investigative progress.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to establish policies, best practices, and investigative frameworks to drive ORC program success.
  • Leverage data analytics and intelligence-gathering techniques to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, retail crime legislation, and best practices to continuously refine ORC strategies.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to support investigations, facilitate arrests, and prosecute ORC offenders.
  • Work closely with Loss Prevention teams across stores, supply chain, e-commerce, and omni-channel operations to enhance investigative efforts.
  • Partner with internal teams, including AP team, Legal, and human resources, to ensure compliance with company policies and external laws.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, ORC task force meetings, and law enforcement briefings.
  • Analyze theft and fraud trends to identify emerging ORC threats and develop proactive strategies.
  • Implement training programs for store associates and Loss Prevention teams on ORC awareness, prevention techniques, and best practices.
  • Lead enterprise-wide initiatives to improve security, prevent fraud, and mitigate loss.
  • Utilize advanced loss prevention technologies, including surveillance equipment, GPS tracking, and case management software, to enhance investigative capabilities.

 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in organized retail crime investigations, law enforcement, or loss prevention.
  • Proven track record of conducting complex ORC investigations and working with law enforcement on case resolutions.
  • Strong understanding of ORC trends, investigative techniques, and retail security best practices.
  • Strong desire and ability to learn new skills and best practices on an ongoing basis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
  • The ability to travel to all sanctuaries in the region required, including overnight travel, weekend, and additional travel as required (up to 80% of the time).
  • Proficient computer skills including asset protection applications, MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, OneNote, and PowerPoint), and store systems such as RFID, and Shopify.
  • You must be comfortable working in an independent manner, able to multi-task, be flexible with and embrace change prioritizing the needs of the business.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.
  • May involve some physical activity, including lifting and moving merchandise.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 30lbs.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining data integrity and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of fostering strong relationships across all organizational levels and with external law enforcement partners.
  • Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities in a strategic manner.
  • Availability to respond to store-based emergencies and have a high degree of accessibility.
  • Flexible schedule that meets the needs of the business where schedules may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The base salary range for this position is $100,000-$120,000 per year, which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
