You understand and can navigate the complexities of the national organ procurement, allocation, and placement process. You have the ability to gain rapid insight into key issues that impact donor hospitals, organ procurement organizations (OPOs), and kidney transplant centers (TCs). Job Highlights: The OPO TLL role is a marketing field-based position working closely with Organ Procurement and Solid Organ Transplant Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) as the Sanofi therapeutic area expert. Primary responsibilities include understanding OPO priorities, developing and maintaining relationships with OPO KOLs and Transplant Center KOLs, and ensuring alignment of commercial activities such as key messaging and commercial strategy in alignment with brand strategic imperatives of reducing organ non-utilization and increasing access to transplant. While the OPO TLL is a marketing position, the OPO TLL is expected to maintain a close working relationship with Transplant Sales, Training, Market Access, Medical, and other stakeholder teams sharing insights as appropriate. You will report to the Director, Transplant Thought Leader Liaison.

This field-based marketing team will work closely with SOT and OPO Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) with the goal of addressing educational gaps to increase organ utility and patient equity. The three key areas are Support Brand Strategic Imperatives, Thought Leader Development, and Commercial Program Facilitation and Execution.

Main Responsibilities:

Support Brand Strategic Imperatives

  • Understand challenges in organ allocation leading to gaps and opportunities between OPO and TC with the goal of increasing kidney acceptance rates

  • Facilitate communication between OPOs and TCs to understand the gaps that may impact organ utilization

  • Plan, Collaborate, and Execute a Sanofi OPO Summit

  • Implement CJRs to educate and cultivate relationship among OPO and KTC

  • Develop and Publish an Organ Journey Pathway from donor hospital to OPO to transplant center, parlaying this into a Sanofi Customer Mapping and applying NPP educational tactics

  • Expand customer base to a working database of 54 OPO accounts; update to align with this evolving market; and segment them for efficient marketing

  • Provide brand with insights on OPO and KTC best practices on organ acceptance efficiencies that increase patient access to transplant

  • Collaborate with matrix partners – Transplant Network Managers, Key Account Managers, National Account Directors to optimize Sanofi resources at conferences, or through pull through at a national and local level

  • Expand innovation through collaboration with market access NADs and Agile Team

  • Collaborate with SOT TLLs in sharing insights that could be pulled into broader national transplant center deliverables aimed at growing market

  • Build OPO/KOL advocates, speaker bureau, thought leaders

  • Investigate and report on strategic advancement of perfusion/pump/etc.

  • Understand competitive landscape through interactions to help shape brand strategy


Thought Leader Development

  • Manage contracts, onboarding, and logistics, for consultants, speakers, or OPO Summit. Conduct training for new OPO speakers in coordination with other key stakeholders such as Medical, Legal, Regulatory/Compliance, Field Sales, Operations, etc.

  • Oversee on-label, and approved KOL programming (e.g., disease state and product as required) in alignment with brand strategy

  • Act as primary liaison to collaborate with relevant matrix stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, SOT-TLL, Market Access, Training, Medical Affairs, etc.)

  • Assess speaker utilization and program logistics to ensure compliance with corporate policies and guidelines.

  • Strategically allocate high demand speakers across the country based on educational needs.

  • Gather input and provide real time assessment of speaker and program effectiveness and provide consistent feedback to aligned KOLs to enhance their effectiveness as speakers

  • Assist in the development of new Speaker Program decks (e.g., procurement and allocation) based on stakeholder and KOL input.

  • Assist in the continued identification and development of a KOL panel with whom the TLL can engage on a regular and defined basis. While panel members will consist of current, known, KOLs, it will predominantly feature “Up and Comers” with a bias towards investigating and acting upon the developing opinions of selected newer practitioners.

  • Execute peer to peer strategies, aligned with the brand team, to address customer needs, anticipate market trends, and uncover competitive intelligence, ensuring delivery against business objectives.

  • Support KOL influence-mapping initiatives developing profiles and engagement / communication plans for each assigned KOL

  • Participate as a member of cross-functional brand team(s) to provide feedback on strategy, messaging, and tactical execution and novel programming ideas and concepts

  • Compliantly collaborate and communicate with the field team on each assigned KOL, to ensure strategic and tactical cohesiveness

Commercial Program Facilitation and Execution

  • Collaborate and coordinate with commercial team on OPO and HCP KOL recruitment for ad hoc initiatives such as commercial ad boards, sales training initiatives, presentations at sales meetings, content development for commercial programs, presentations to office-based employees, etc.

  • Engage OPO KOL customers on pre-identified brand topics

  • Execute consulting agreements and advisory board contracts and assist in planning, recruitment, and completion of regional and national advisory boards, focus groups, or other such collaboratives

  • Plan, organize and execute strategic National and Regional Congress activity: product theater, KOL interaction, sponsorship opportunity, commercial booth development and staffing, etc.

  • Manage the execution of executive leadership engagement encounters at local, regional, and national conferences and congresses, POAs, field visits and other venues as directed in a compliant manner


About You

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • A minimum of five years of work experience in Solid Organ Transplant therapeutic area, with experience encompassing one or more of the following: organ procurement organization coordination, field sales, product marketing, or medical / clinical practice.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)

  • Ability to travel up to 60%-70%; to include travel to assigned customers/meetings/trainings/programs

  • Ability to assemble and lead cross-functional teams toward a shared vision of success

  • Possess strong scientific acumen and ability to articulate complex scientific concepts and data

  • Self-directed and organized with excellent execution and planning skills

  • Ability to adapt and change in a shifting environment

  • Ability to appropriately and effectively leverage expertise and knowledge of disease state, organ allocation policy, clinical information, marketplace trends, competitors, and industry partners.

  • Anticipate and effectively manage business opportunities and challenges with key customers, while adhering to all of Sanofi company ethics, and compliance standards.

  • The ability to execute tactical initiatives, provide ongoing feedback, and prioritize multiple projects

  • Proficient with MS Office, Customer Management databases

  • Overall performance ratings predictive of excellent performance on the job

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or MS degree in business/clinical/science

  • Organ Procurement or Solid Organ Transplant experience

  • Field, SOT, and TLL experience

  • Marketing special project experience

The salary range for this position is $144,750.00 - $193,000.00 USD Annually. In addition to sales incentive (role may my eligible for long term incentive depending on level and performance); all compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience.
