Description:

Synergy is seeking a Database Developer/ Oracle Engineer. The candidate must have experience with designing and developing database tables and scripts from scratch, data modeling, and SQL, PL/SQL (packages/functions/triggers, etc.). The candidate would be working in an Agile environment along with other database developers, business analyst, scrum master and UI/UX designer supporting a multi-year modernization of a legacy application. The candidate should exhibit excellent problem solving and data analysis skills as well as a proven ability to work independently. The candidate will focus on design, development, implementation and testing of the software built on a new technology stack using industry standard tools and design patterns. 

Essential Functions & Duties:

  • Work closely with the product owner, business analyst, tech lead and designer to translate requirements.
  • Create necessary tables, views, procedures, and scripts to the support creation of multiple usable web pages.
  • Data migration from Legacy application to the modernized application being developed.

Skills, Qualifications and Certifications of Best Candidates:

  • 7 plus years of experience as a Oracle database developer, including creating DB tables, views, procedures, and scripts preferred  
  • 5 plus years’ experience with SQL queries and databases, e.g. Oracle 19 preferred  
  • Experience with PL/SQL preferred  
  • Experience with PL/SQL unit testing. 
  • Experience developing an enterprise-wide application. 
  • Strong communication skills with management, development teams, and product owner.
  • Experience in GitLab
  • Oracle Data Modeling and Oracle SQL Developer Experience 
  • History of working in an Agile environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with C#, HTML, and JavaScript. 
  • Experience with cloud-based SQL Server solutions is a plus. 

Citizenship or Work Authorization Required: 

  • Top Secret Clearance or ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance is required 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must pass a background investigation

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering degree; or a degree in Engineering from an accredited* institution. A required certification may be accepted in lieu of education requirement.

Required Certification:

  •  In accordance with DOD Cyber Workforce Qualifications Matrices Management, Security+ is required for candidates that do not possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering degree; or a degree in Engineering from an accredited* institution. Candidates that do not possess the required degree at the time of hire will need to obtain a Security+ certification within 6 months of start date and must be maintained throughout performance of the contract. The company will reimburse for training and certification costs upon successful completion.

Compensation for roles at Synergy varies depending on a wide variety of factors including but not limited to the requirements of the role; education and certifications; knowledge, training, skills and abilities; level of experience; geographic location; and alignment with market data, law, and other business and organizational needs. As required by local law, the posted pay range represents the lowest to the highest pay that Synergy believes in good faith it might pay for this particular job, depending on the circumstances. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is: $92,000- $125,000
