Open Source Intelligence Analyst

Control Risks is looking to hire a Mid-Level Open Source Intelligence Analyst to support a premier client of ours. The Mid-Level Open Source Intelligence Analyst will conduct research and provide intelligence to the Threat Assessment Management Services (TAMs) in a timely manner to support the investigation and mitigation of threatening incidents or behaviors. OSINT analysts also support Executive Protection and employee, facility, event safety and security by providing persistent situational awareness research and support.


  • Possess ongoing development of subject matter expertise; provide analysis with some oversight.
  • Conduct research and complete defined projects with some oversight and guidance.
  • Support large team projects by completing individual tasks; they may also support development of scope, assignments, and editing of large team projects.
  • Accountable for completing tasks on time, as defined by project leaders or account managers; mid-level analysts also provide peer support so others may complete their tasks on time.
  • Execute known responsibilities with some structured guidance and ongoing feedback; receive and follow direction and guidance from others.
  • Render judgment on the best path forward, which may require confirmation with Senior Analyst or Account Manager.
  • Use existing procedures to solve standard problems and exhibit problem-solving skills in straightforward situations.
  • Assess concerns in more complex challenges, collaborating on solutions.
  • Voice suggestions for process improvement as needed.
  • Exhibit an understanding of the Client's intelligence customer needs and developing understanding of the Client's priorities (business practices, culture, and intelligence needs).
  • Actively learn and model best business practices, professional behavior, etc.
  • Provide peer-level support to other analysts and some mentorship to Junior Analysts (either directed by Senior or managers, or organic).
  • Accountable to the Account Manager and Program Manager; accountable to project leads when assigned project tasks.
  • Utilize OSINT research methodology for real-time situational awareness and analysis.
  • Monitor worldwide events; identify events with the potential to impact the Client's assets, executives, and operations. Examples of relevant event categories include, but are not limited to: natural disasters, transportation disruptions, political instability, terrorism, and crime
  • Intensive analysis of data collected and produce timely, useful, and custom-tailored intelligence reports, threat assessments, and Person of Interest (POI) investigation reports, etc.
  • Identify POIs who exhibit concerning, unwanted, or violent threatening behaviour toward the Client, its executives, employees, or community
  • Research, evaluate, and assess and continually monitor POIs and their activity and disseminate information to Client stakeholders as needed.
