Position Summary:       

Online Judaic Studies Course Development Specialist  - YU Global, part-time no more than 19 hours/week (casual staff)   

YU Global is seeking a talented, creative, and experienced curriculum and course developer to join our course production team in a part-time capacity. Candidates should have experience developing online, asynchronous courses in Judaic studies at both the high school and adult education levels and familiarity with the principles of instructional design and online pedagogy/andragogy.  The ideal candidate will have experience and proficiency using the Articulate 360 suite (including Rise and Storyline) to develop and design online courses. This position can be fully remote or hybrid (with two days per week on-site at our Upper Manhattan campus) and offers a competitive hourly rate. 

Position Responsibilities:

Judaic Studies Credit Recovery Courses: 

  • Work with Yeshiva High Schools to determine course needs 
  • Serve as, or work with, SME to secure and develop content and materials for courses identified as high-priority with broad appeal
  • Work with YUG instructional designers on course design. 
  • Serve as facilitator for the courses where appropriate, or engage appropriate facilitator resources

Online Judaic Courses: 

  • Collaborate with SMEs to secure and organize content for Judaic courses being developed by YUG for both the university and external clients
  • Work with IDs to finalize course design

Experience & Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in developing online Judaic courses and curriculum
  • Degree or certification in Judaic studies or Jewish education 
  • Advanced degree or certification in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field [preferred] 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Basic understanding of online pedagogy/andragogy and instructional design principles
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Understanding of Learning Management System functionality 
  • Familiarity with Articulate 360 design suite [preferred] 

Salary Range:

$40 - $50 per hour
