The Opportunity…
We have a unique opportunity for a Security Policy Officer to support our Nuclear Security function in maintaining robust and compliant security policies, as part of our Nuclear Services business. Nuclear Services is our technical centre of excellence, supporting our existing fleet of nuclear power stations and our nuclear new build projects.
In your role, you’ll play a key role in ensuring security procedures remain clear, effective, and aligned with relevant civil nuclear security standards and business requirements.
You will provide security policy advice, oversee quality-related review activities, and contribute to business continuity planning.

We can offer a competitive salary from £40,000 - £45,000 (negotiable dependent on experience).

What you’ll be doing…
- Security Policy Development: Ensure security procedures are clear, up to date, and aligned with evolving CNSS requirements and operational needs.
- Quality and Compliance: Lead quality-related review activities for the function, ensuring security documentation aligns with Nuclear Operations and broader company policies.
- Business Continuity Planning: Provide functional leadership for the Security Business Continuity Plan and ensure its effective implementation.
- Security Culture Improvements: Drive communication and initiatives that strengthen security awareness across the business.
- Documentation Management: Maintain and update the security intranet, ensuring all security-related information remains accurate and accessible.
- Corrective Action Programme (CAP): Support the function’s CAP by assisting in the identification and resolution of security-related issues.
Who you are…
- Educated to degree level or possessing equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.
- Experienced in writing, reviewing, and amending complex documentation, ensuring clarity and compliance.
- Highly proficient in MS Office, particularly Word, with strong computer literacy.
- Able to analyse information quickly from multiple sources and provide clear, well-reasoned recommendations.
- A strong communicator, capable of engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Previous experience in the civil nuclear industry or a corporate quality environment is desirable but not essential.
