Job Description
Salary Range:
The expected pay range for this position is $100,000 to $106,000 yearly. The pay rate will vary based on skills, experience, and location.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Network and Computer Systems, Journeyman with at least 4 years of experience to support our organization’s network infrastructure. This position may also involve supervising user support specialists and overseeing network security protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and support LAN and WAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other essential network hardware. Ensure the network is fully functional and available to all users and perform necessary updates or maintenance.
- Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance continuously to identify potential issues, ensuring optimal network availability and performance. Conduct testing on website and application performance to ensure minimal downtime and seamless user experiences.
- Network Planning and Analysis: Assist with network modeling, analysis, and planning to support organizational needs. Coordinate with IT teams on hardware and software configurations for network improvements and expansion.
- User Support and Supervision: Supervise computer user support specialists and network support specialists, providing guidance and training as needed. Provide support to end-users for troubleshooting network connectivity issues and ensure prompt resolution of technical challenges.
- Network Security Administration: Implement and enforce network security protocols to protect data and systems from unauthorized access. Conduct regular security audits and stay current on best practices for maintaining network integrity.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in network and systems administration.
- Strong knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and security principles, including experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network monitoring tools.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving within LAN/WAN infrastructure.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.
- Experience in supervising or managing support staff.
- Familiarity with network analysis and monitoring tools for traffic analysis and performance assessment.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Clearance Requirement:
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have an active Public Trust or have the ability to obtain one.
