Salary Range

$70,000 to $85,000

A Brief Overview

Responsibilities include installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of voice, data and wireless networks in an enterprise 24x7 environment. Participate in technical research, documentation and projects. Must be able to participate in after-hours work as required for on call and system implementations.

What you will do

  • Maintain network infrastructure including Data Center, HQ-Campus, Branch Campus, Wireless (WLAN), Telephony, Collaboration Tools, and Wide Area Networks (WAN).
  • Troubleshoot WAN and Wi-Fi hardware, software, and circuit connectivity problems, coordinate resolution with internal technical resources and vendors.
  • Troubleshoot voice/telephony, collaboration, and contact center issues, coordinate resolution with internal technical resources and vendors.
  • Participate in projects involving existing and new technical solutions; responsibilities include planning, scheduling, and coordinating all aspects of the project.
  • Maintain documentation of Wide Area Network and Wi-Fi equipment such as routers, switches, and wireless access points, on an on-going basis; include documentation updates as an integral part of every project.
  • Coordinate multiple vendor efforts in conjunction with project plans. Obtain and process hardware and service quotes from vendors to be used in project proposals.
  • Provide escalation support for Technical Support for problems.
  • Resolve escalated issues or provide guidance to assist Technical Support staff in problem resolution.
  • Monitor capacity and performance of all segments of the network including Data Center, Campus, Wireless, Voice and Wide Area Networks; make recommendation for increasing capacity as necessary communicate with management on the status of projects and problem resolution efforts.
  • Meet all assigned departmental SLO’s.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies.
  • Maintain equipment inventory
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support after hours incidents.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Understand and comply with all provisions of the Security in the Workplace policy.

Minimum Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • A combination of post-high school education, job related certification and related experience equivalent to 3 years may be considered in lieu of a degree

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other technical field
  • Network administration experience in an enterprise 24x7 environment
  • Voice administration experience in an enterprise 24x7 environment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple projects and multiple tasks while meeting agreed upon objectives
  • Good technical problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge in the principles, design and implementation of TCP/IP networks including OSI model, routing, and VLAN’s
  • Working knowledge with layer 2 and layer 3 technologies with a focus on Cisco networking equipment such as routers and switches
  • Working knowledge of routing protocols including Open Short Path First (OSPF), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
  • Working knowledge in the principles of voice technology, including VoIP, SIP and voice gateways
  • Working knowledge in Contact Center technologies, queue configurations, scripting, call recording, workforce management, and reporting
  • Must have the ability to work on WAN, MPLS, SIP, internet and wave connections from T1 up to 10GB
  • Able to implement and maintain security measures on various network devices
  • General understanding of virtual servers and operating systems
  • General understanding of encryption technologies, web services and database systems
  • Strong customer service skills; experience required


Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Frequently remains stationary throughout a typical business day
  • Frequently operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and other rooms
  • Occasionally positions self to access drawers and shelves of various heights
  • Occasionally must lift equipment up to 50lbs to and from storage and at branch locations.
  • Frequently reaches for and handles paperwork and files
  • Constantly communicates with customers, coworkers, and management in-person and on the phone
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information
  • FirstBank does not currently offer fully remote positions, except as required by law. The actual number of in-office days that may be required will vary by business unit, role, and business need.
