National Fleet Engineer

Homebased with frequent weekly travel to various sites across the UK
Full Time, Permanent (40 Hours Per Week)
£60,000 - £62,000 per annum, dependant on experience + company car and benefits

We are currently seeking a National Fleet Engineer to lead the strategy, policy, development, and implementation of the Commercial Fleet maintenance services, including internal maintenance workshops that will enable the achievement and robust delivery of the business objectives. 

 

As National Fleet Engineer, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of the internal and external Fleet Maintenance and Workshop operation throughout our UK fleet operations.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To contribute as a member of the MyFleet Senior Management Team and in the formation of the business unit strategies and plans.
  • To put in place robust strategies and plans for the Fleet Maintenance delivery within the business, aligned to Serco Group and divisional strategies, that will deliver the objectives of Enabling Services and UK & Europe.
  • Deliver an Audit Program that enhances the service delivery, maintenance and HSE compliance in all workshop facilities both in and outsourced.
  • To lead and engage in the development of a network of senior relationships with customers, potential customers, partners, and stakeholders to anticipate and meet the Business Unit existing and future needs.
  • Budgetary responsibility across Insource and Outsource maintenance services, ensuring each division maintenance services is operating in most cost-effective manner.
  • Daily monitoring of relevant KPI's and ensuring they adhered across all department’s functions.
  • Challenge outsourced delivery services for cost effectiveness in parts spend.

 

 

What you’ll need to do the role:

  • Be a qualified Motor Vehicle Technician with a background in Commercial Fleet Maintenance management.
  • Experience of managing fleet maintenance teams and maintaining large fleets.
  • Highly skilled in Fleet Workshop management, including costing and developing Construction and Use specifications of new vehicles.
  • Goods Management CPC qualification
  • Possess leadership qualities with evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers and key business stakeholders.
  • Sound strategic thinker with the ability to operate with a hands-on, pragmatic approach when required.
