Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Practitioner to join our team! In this role you will supporting federal agencies in meeting the requirements of the NEPA and other federal review requirements.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Preparing environmental documentation, specifically Categorical Exclusions (CATEX), Environmental Assessments (EAs), and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), for federal agencies to meet the requirements of the NEPA and other federal review requirements, including Section 106 of the NEPA.
  • Ensuring environmental compliance.
  • Participating in agency and public outreach, and client communication.
  • Using environmental planning theories and practices as well as compliance with NEPA and other environmental laws and regulations.
  • Conducting environmental documentation reviews, stakeholder engagement support, environmental permitting support, and remediation support.
  • Providing records management support for NEPA documentation.  

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Engineering, or related field.
  • Seven or more years of related work experience.
  • Substantial contribution to at least 5 EAs or EISs in the in the last five years, as documented by being included on the list of preparers in the final EA or EIS.
  • Experience with online databases (i.e. NEPAssist) from regulatory and governmental agencies to support NEPA and environmental analysis.
  • Ability to work independently, with general direction and a minimum of supervision.
  • Must be available for up to 10% travel throughout the US


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Experience preparing Environmental Assessments for Federal Agencies.
  • Experience preparing Environmental Impact Statements for Federal Agencies
  • Experience working with various government clients (GSA, VA.)
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of NEPA and regulations.
  • Experience participating in public meetings.
