Mortgage Credit Policy Risk Analyst II (Remote)

Overview:  

This role sits on the mortgage first line risk management team.

Support the first line of defense risk management function by assisting with the identification and assessment of risks, risk monitoring and testing, and issues management. Provide assistance in the development and implementation of various operational risk/compliance related initiatives within the business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:     

  • Intake, review and implementation of investor credit policies, e.g. Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA, State Bond programs, etc.
  • Assist in completely and accurately documenting key  for both first line risk team and the assigned business unit (e.g. Mortgage Originations). Identify and assess risks and internal controls associated with these key processes.
  • Assist in the planning, execution and reporting of both first line risk and business unit's risk-based monitoring and testing program as applicable. Ensure policies and procedures are executed in accordance with M&T's First Line of Defense Guidance on Management of Risks & Internal Controls and professional standards.
  • Processing, analysis and maintenance of business unit credit authority process, including test case validation, collaboration with first line quality control team, and business unit personnel.
  • Monitor business unit performance with respect to established key risk indicators (KRIs) and assist in the creation of comprehensive KRI reporting.
  • Assist in identify emerging risks and risks associated with new products/ services/ markets/ channels/ investors/ insurers or changes to existing products/ services/ markets/ investors/ insurers/ channels.
  • Research and consult with first line teams regarding overlapping regulatory requirements impacting the business unit.
  • Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience

Strong written and oral communication skills

The ability to work independently while managing multiple competing priorities

The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation. The range listed above corresponds to our national pay range for this role. The specific pay range applicable to you may vary based on your location.
