Job Description
This position provides broad leadership over academic operations, including academic scheduling, to assure effective opportunities for students to transition into and through college pathways/programs. This position also leads interdisciplinary initiatives (such as the First Year Experience and Open Educational Resources); collaborates with the other deans; and coordinates, creates, and monitors essential processes.
This position involves significant discretion and substantial involvement in the development, interpretation, and implementation of college policy, including but not limited to, academic scheduling, the Faculty Appraisal process, the First Year Experience, and Open Educational Resources. This position also involves supervising the college scheduler, the Academic Affairs Coordinator, and the Faculty Support staff.
This position serves and performs responsibilities for both campuses of ARCC and will travel in-between campuses as needed. The home campus for this position will be the Rapids campus with the possibility of working remotely up to two days per week based on department needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters Degree or equivalent completed by position start date
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to cultivate buy-in and advance projects
Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to meeting the academic needs of a diverse student population, which may include non-traditional students, non-native speakers of English, students with disabilities, first-generation college students, among many others.
Experience with or a strong interest in utilizing proven strategies to eliminate equity gaps
Preferred Qualification
Demonstrated success at leading innovation and organizational change as it relates to curriculum, programs, and/or student services.
Experience in supervising or coaching others, which may include hiring, training, evaluating and performance management.
Experience working in post-secondary education or related educational environments.
