As the Applications Engineer – Microfiltration you will be the microfiltration subject matter expert (SME) providing front-line technical advice and support to customers and sales staff during and after the sale of scientific products. The Application Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for customer microfiltration technical issues to ensure complete customer satisfaction for the assigned line of products and applications.
You will also be responsible for market research, technical sourcing for suppliers, and providing technical support and education for our Sales Team and customers.

Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Customer facing (25%):
  • Provide design and specification information to customers.
  • Work with customers to define product needs and suggest alternatives.
  • Resolve pre-sales customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the Company's mission, values, and financial objectives.
  • Articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.
  • Answer complex product-related questions and provide technical support via email and phone to technical and non-technical people
Sales Support (50%):
  • General Sales support
  • Function as the Sales ‘Go-To’ technical person
  • Provide sales support via phone – may be required to work with customer to define product need and suggest alternatives
  • Recommend purchases relevant to customer requirements
  • Research products and keep abreast of current technologies
  • Trade show support – booth support, represent Sterlitech at Industry meetings, symposiums and trade shows
  • BLOG articles – contribute to the Sterlitech newsletter and website
  • Other duties as assigned

Technical Marketing (25%):
  • Customer requests for material support
  • Data Sheets provide to customer per their request
  • Assist with Marketing with respect to customer facing items to include but not limited to white papers, blogs, competitor reviews, industry updates, trends and other factors impacting products and applications
  • Update manuals and documents to support products
  • May be required to travel to customer sites for application support to clients per their design requests
  • Trouble shoot technical issues from customers via web chat, email, phone, or in-person
  • Research for new product development – meet with suppliers etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science or Engineering (Chemistry, Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Physiology, Physics, industrial hygiene, or other related discipline is preferred) along with some Industry-related experience
  • At least 3 years of working knowledge of research laboratory processes, equipment, and facilities preferred
  • A minimum of 1+ year of customer or technical sales support experience preferred
  • Sales experience is always a plus!
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work independently.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment 
  • Self-starter and manage time wisely

  • Excellent proof-reading skills 
  • Good analytical & organizational skills
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, CRM software
Work Environment:
  • Exposed to a combination of office and shop environments.
  • Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift objects of up to 50 lbs.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $89,000 to $105,000 annualized, with a bonus potential, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at Sterlitech, your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a generous benefits package, including company paid health insurance, 401(K) retirements savings plan with employer match, 3 weeks PTO per year, and more
