The Revenue Cycle Operations Manager is a senior member of the R1 Management Team and will be responsible for assisting in the management, coordination and the control of daily operational activities within R1 Shared Service Center (CBO), which includes but are not limited to billing and follow-up of patient accounts, compliance and daily audits, cash collections, vendor management, and employee productivity. The Operations Manager role is a key part in the R1 and Client relationship that ensures the maximum collection of medical services.
This position is in a fast paced environment and oversees the management of local and remote resources, while reporting directly to the Director of Revenue Cycle Shared Services and VP of Shared Services. With a keen sense of customer service relative to revenue cycle management, analytical mindset you will drive a team to achieve key revenue performance while adhering to R1’s quality metrics within assigned departments.
Responsibilities:
Will be responsible for managing and developing staff of 5+ associates in the US and managing multiple billing-related project plans.
Oversee US and India-based billing operations for multiple acute care hospital facilities.
Responsible for interacting with the client health systems and providing regular performance updates.
Review and analyze daily billing metric scorecards to allocate workforce to achieve daily production targets.
Manage individual performance of staff members and coordinate development, coaching and discipline according to production standards.
Communicate results with customers/clients and lead daily and weekly billing meets to report results and resolve.
Standardize third party liability follow up practices at a national level.
Ensure all operational practices are compliant with all applicable rules and regulations.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
3+ Years of revenue cycle experience.
3+ Years of experience working with third party liability payers
Functional knowledge of how to manage and drive a team to meet KPI’s and revenue metrics.
Experience in an analytical environment and evidence of organizational skills.
Understand the process of hospital revenue cycle and back-end functional areas including: Billing, Follow-up, Cash Posting, Credits.
The ability to communicate key messages to multiple audiences- (exempt staff through hospital CFO's/VP of Revenue Cycle).
Exemplary problem solving abilities and practical analytical competency to identify trends using data.
Functional computer knowledge, including Excel spreadsheets, pivot tables and Microsoft Office products.
Outstanding time management skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks while remaining self-directed.
Previous management experience.
Desired Qualifications:
Lean Six Sigma experience – Green belt or higher.
Call center/Shared Service experience.
