The Medical Science Liaison is responsible for engaging and educating healthcare professionals and thought leaders, about the clinical application, utility, and impact of Cepheidâs in vitro diagnostic products, through fair and balanced scientific exchange. The MSL will also provide expertise and insights to internal teams about unmet clinical needs and strategies for generating evidence to further advance product use to improve patient care.
This position is part of the Medical and Scientific Affairs Department and will be remote. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Serves as resource to the medical/scientific community including emergency and infectious disease clinicians, OBGYNs, laboratory personnel, infection control, pharmacists and researchers
- Proactively educates healthcare professionals and supports commercial efforts by demonstrating the clinical value of Cepheidâs diagnostic products
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with thought leaders (KOLs) to obtain advice, expert opinion and establish innovation partnerships
- Maintains knowledge in relevant scientific literature including clinical practice guidelines and emerging healthcare trends
- Participates in scientific meetings to engage KOLs, healthcare providers and customers
- Identifies research gaps, supports sponsored clinical trials, investigator-initiated research, Advisory Boards and Focus Groups to assist marketing in requirements for the product pipeline.
- Communicates insights from the medical/scientific community about unmet clinical or diagnostic needs and provides scientific expertise on product design, development and implementation
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Doctoral degree (PhD or PharmD) with 4+ years of experience OR Masterâs/Bachelorâs degree with 12+ years of experience OR Nurse âŚ
