Medical Records Retrieval Representative

 The Medical Records Retrieval Representative (Risk Adjustment Representative 2) travels to provider offices within the region (Ventura County and surrounding areas) and scans medical records into a secure system. The records are reviewed by Humana's Coding staff.

• Travel up to 50% of the time. Assigned area is Ventura County and surrounding areas as well as driving to locations that require overnight travel.

• Use a laptop computer and a portable scanner to retrieve medical records which will be uploaded into a database

• Schedule appointments and visits to physician offices in a timely, efficient manner to meet all deadlines

Required Qualifications

• Candidates must reside within Ventura County, California

• 1+ years of experience with Medical Records or Electronic Medical Records

• Must have reliable transportation

• Ability to travel locally up to 50% of the time (Ventura County and surrounding areas)

• Ability to travel overnight occasionally 

• This role is part of Humana's driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver's license and are expected to maintain personal vehicle liability insurance. Individual must carry vehicle insurance in accordance with their residing state minimum required limits, or $25,000 bodily injury per person/$25,000 bodily injury per event /$10,000 for property damage or whichever is higher. 

• Working knowledge of computers, or a demonstrated technical aptitude and an ability to quickly learn new systems

• Demonstrated organizational skills

• Demonstrated ability to articulate ideas effectively in both written and oral forms

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous healthcare or health insurance experience

• Familiarity with medical terminology

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
