Hi, we're Oscar Medical Group. We’re hiring a Medical Director to join our Primary Care team.

About the role:

The Medical Director is the clinical leader responsible, in collaboration with other clinical, operational, and tech leaders for shaping the overall care delivery model and driving high quality, cost-effective outcomes through evidence based medicine. The Medical Director collaborates with clinical leaders as well as serves as a liaison between the practice and other healthcare providers in Oscar’s larger ecosystem to ensure that our multidisciplinary care team can effectively and efficiently deliver top notch medical care.

You will report into the Senior Medical Director, Oscar Primary Care.

Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role is: $232,000 - $304,500 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, annual vacation grant of up to 18 days per year and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and provide clinical leadership to the team and serve as an escalation point. 
  • Work closely with senior leadership to ensure strategic initiatives are met for the organization.
  • Provide professional development to clinical team leads and care team members.
  • Provide direct patient care to a subset of patients via telemedicine (video, phone, messaging). 
  • Provide leadership and give continuous feedback for process improvement on workflows and tooling to reflect best care practices. 
  • Supervise advance practitioners and comply with applicable state regulatory supervision requirements
  • Ensures development of Quality initiatives (cost of care, patient safety, patient experience, etc) in alignment with larger Oscar strategy and medical home framework 
  • Support development of clinical guidelines and continuous improvement of our virtual model in support of larger strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in quality assurance audits, both peer review and additional targeted audits as applicable
  • Participate in Oscar Medical Group committees (tech, safety, quality, etc)
  • Participate in vendor or networking meetings that relate to Oscar strategy and growth
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school with licensure in good standing with medical boards
  • Appropriate Medical Board Certification in good standing
  • Completion of medical residency program 
  • Licensure in TX, GA, FL with with ability to obtain licensure in additional states that align with larger Oscar strategy
  • Active DEA for supervisory requirements
  • 5+ years of experience specialty in [Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Medicine-Pediatrics required for primary care or urgent care; Emergency Medicine also considered for urgent care]
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team of care providers

Bonus points:

  • Spanish language fluency
  • Experience in a virtual clinical work and remote people management 
  • Experience working in cross functional teams (tech, product, operations).
  • Experience in Quality Improvement (QI) or Process Improvement (PI) project work or systems-based approach in work ethic
  • Experience working with EHRs

Pay Transparency: 

Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
