Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting our patients and clinical care team as we navigate their MSK care. As a Remote Medical Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our virtual team and enhancing patient care. You will be responsible for administrative tasks, patient coordination, and assisting patients with virtual consultations. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of medical procedures, and the ability to manage tasks efficiently in a remote environment.
What You’ll Do:
Essential Functions:

Communicate with clinicians, patients, partners and insurance companies via phone call, email, and chat to complete administrative and clinical responsibilities.

Support creation of the scheduling template

Schedule upcoming appointments as directed
-
Participate in patient video visits if so directed by clinical leadership
-
Provide support to the Clinical team, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, health coaches, and registered dietitians

Coordinate with other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care and smooth patient flow.

Gather visit notes and fax to patients and/or external providers
-
Obtain outside medical records

Scan outside records and materials into patient charts

Conduct checks of chat messages as directed

Conduct daily checks to ensure clinical notes are transmitted to intended recipients

Provide assistance with coordinating referrals

Coordinate with external partners, providers and facilities to ensure patient needs are met

Participate in quality assurance meetings and projects as directed by clinical leadership

Collaborate in policy and procedure development and training

Enter data to Vori’s EHR
-
Be an active participant with camera on during team huddles, meetings and rounds.

Facilitate changes to clinician calendars as directed by clinical leadership
-
Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and confidentiality guidelines in all patient interactions.

Support the team in maintaining compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.

Who You Are:
Required:
-
Medical Assistant Certification vs Clinical Assistant/ Clinical Administrator or Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Telehealth experience
-
2+ years of experience working as a Medical Assistant, (Orthopaedic experience is a plus)

Strong knowledge of medical terminology, office procedures, and patient care practices.

Proficient with Microsoft Suite software such as Outlook, Work, Excel, and OneDrive.

Experience with video chatting.

Google Suite, Slack, electronic health records or comfortable learning new technology.

Bilingual (written and spoken) in Spanish is a plus
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

Remote work environment -- private (visual and auditory) office space for video interactions with patients

High speed internet (Vori provides you a laptop but you need to provide high speed internet access)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
