Media Relations Specialist - Western United States/Remote

About the RoleWe are seeking a Media Relations Specialist to help expand our network and ensure that Business Wire’s client content reaches the right audiences. This is a position that requires an individual who can handle a variety of challenging duties in a fast-paced environment and who has the ability to build fruitful and long-lasting relationships with various Business Wire audiences, including journalists, media partners, web sites, bloggers and influencers. The right candidate will be responsible for media relations and media services primarily within the North America region. This position reports to the U.S. Media Relations Manager.

What You'll Do

• Identify media and trade publications/websites as candidates for licensing of Business Wire content. Perform outreach/follow-up to secure licensing agreements.
• Grow and maintain relationships with members of the media such as journalists, editors, and content managers.
• Actively increase the number of media who access Business Wire’s news in the U.S. by developing and delivering strategic and effective media pitches.
• Leverage social media platforms to gain new media contacts.
• Generate content for the company blog, newsletter and intranet.
• Plan and execute media seminars/events in coordination with Business Wire sales staff.
• Maintain Business Wire’s media database.
• Actively engage in local media and public relations organizations.
