The Regional Community Health (RCHT) provides training, technical assistance, and resource support to build capacity of community-based partners in identifying and responding to community-driven health priorities.
The RCHT is the lead Technical Assistance provider to local and Tribal health departments across the state that have selected the Department of Health Services Maternal Child Health Title V Adolescent Well-Being efforts as a priority area for their public health departments. This role will support the RCHT working to provide technical assistance to build skills and capacity around the state for incorporating youth engagement and youth voice to improve and support adolescent well-being.

Schedule:

13.32 hours flexible between 8:30am-4:30pm M-F. This position may be extended into the next school year depending on program budget and the selected student's enrollment status.

Qualifications:

Degree in Social Work, Human Ecology, Education, Public Health, Communications, or related field
Graduate student (masters or doctoral) in a field related to the focus of the position
Knowledgeable about social determinants of health and health inequities
Commitment to Extension’s values of equity and social justice to support opportunities and outcomes for youth, families, and communities
Employment will require a criminal background check

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Organized and demonstrates strong time management skills
Ability to think creatively in identifying and solving problems
Oral and written communication skills
Self-motivated
Preferred experience with communications and data visualization as well as platforms such as Canva and Qualtrics

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The UW-Madison Division of Extension Health & Well-Being Institute seeks a graduate student project assistant in support of the Maternal Child Health Title V Technical Assistance grant.
The project assistant will work closely with the Regional Community Health Team Supervisor and Extension colleagues to support and serve local and Tribal health departments in their efforts to incorporate youth engagement strategies and youth voice in their efforts to support and enhance adolescent well-being.
Specifically, the position will:
Assist with communication tools such as newsletter creation and distribution
Website maintenance and updates
Monitoring and properly routing and responding to email traffic
Assist with coordinating and supporting virtual learning and meeting environments
Assist with evaluation survey development, data review, and data visualization tools

Physical Demands:

Be able to use a computer for 2 hours at a time.
