Currently, LTN has over 25 active podcasts covering legal news and developments, including access to justice, law school, industry events, legal technology, and the future of law. The podcasts feature experts and thought leaders from the American Bar Association, state bar associations, leading legal publications, corporations, and law schools. Our goals over the next year are to expand our show portfolio, find new audiences, and add to our revenue channels.
About the role
Legal Talk Network seeks a creative and diligent Marketing Specialist to be on the frontline of our marketing and promotional messaging in multiple channels to reach listeners, identify new audiences, and support our show hosts and partners with reporting. This is a dynamic role that needs both dependable delivery of a variety of visual, audio, and written assets that support the podcast release schedule, but also creativity and flexibility to adapt when new opportunities arise. Responsibilities
- Podcast Promotion to grow LTN’s listener base through our website, social media, audio promos, paid ads and other channels, which might include third-party channels.
- Audience Engagement through website, community and social communications, social media strategy development, public relations writing, on-air promotions, surveys, etc.
- Host and Show Partner Engagement through email, reporting, update meetings, coordination of resources, etc. in coordination with Production or Partnerships.
- Content Management: Write and publish compelling and effective email campaigns, blog posts, social media posts, banners, and audio ads to maintain dynamic and interactive communications with listeners for audience growth, as well as with potential sponsors and clients for sales and partnership development.
- Branding Consistency is checked and maintained for each podcast, partner, and sponsor, as well as the network. Maintain a library of logos, links, colors, and branding guidelines.
- Trend Tracking and Reporting: Marketing and promotional initiatives in the Marketing Dashboard, and to sponsors and partners about campaign performance. Provide analysis and constructive suggestions for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with Production to create and track audio promos for the network.
- Support and possibly lead SEO tracking and website improvement efforts, depending on experience.
- Design and supervise creation of conference materials and collateral as needed.
- Participate in Marketing Consulting projects with partners and/or Listening Sessions with client podcasts as needed.
- Cross-train with the Production Assistant to provide vacation coverage for Publishing.
- Cross-train with Partnerships to provide account service and ad operations coverage to partners and sponsors as needed.
- Proactively communicate and engender trust with the team since we all work remotely.
Requirements
- Marketing, communications, media, or writing degree, or 2-3 years of equivalent work experience, preferably in podcasting, plus an undergraduate degree.
- Experience with reporting, analysis, and optimization with various podcast and performance tracking tools: we use Google Suite, Google Analytics, Search Console, Megaphone, Chartable, WordPress, HubSpot, MailChimp, SproutSocial, on the backend, and YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, and Google Ads on the frontend.
- Skills in graphic design: we use Canva and Adobe.
- Familiarity with podcast publishing platforms.
- Familiarity with SEO improvement tactics.
- Experience working with legal professionals is a big plus.
- Creative thinker with a keen eye for design and branding.
- Friendly, open, proactive, helpful, conscientious attitude.
COMPENSATION:
The anticipated starting base pay range for this role is listed below. Base salary is not the only component of our competitive total rewards package - you may also be eligible for bonus, commissions, equity, and other benefits as described below. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications.
$26.42 - $33.03 per hour with bonus potential of $6,000
