We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Marketing Manager to join our team! As the Marketing Manager at Ultima Genomics, you will report directly to the Vice President of Marketing, with work location in Fremont, CA. The position will be responsible for the marketing strategy and execution of new and on-market products, in line with the company’s strategic and revenue goals. This is a high-impact role that will require you to work cross-functionally across R&D and the commercial team with regular exposure to the C-suite. The ideal candidate must possess a strong understanding of product marketing, competitive landscape assessment, and product launches. You will be the primary driver for developing omnichannel strategies that include ideation and execution of digital marketing campaigns, marketing and web assets, and managing our social media platforms.

How You'll Contribute

The Marketing Manager will own and lead the following:

  • Digital Marketing: Develop omnichannel strategies to support on-market and new products. Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain relevant and forward-looking marketing strategies. Manage lead generation methods, including webinars, email marketing, social media, website content optimization, blog writing and digital ad placements.
  • Marketing Collateral: Share ownership and production of marketing materials and sales enablement tools with product managers.  Product Managers will create content, you will partner with them to produce digital and hardcopy.
  • Campaign Management: Develop and execute effective marketing campaigns for on-market and new products, monitoring key performance metrics to assess their effectiveness in achieving strategic objectives.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with R&D and commercial to ensure marketing efforts are in alignment with company objectives.
  • Technology Proficiency: Leverage marketing tools and software, including CRM systems (e.g. SFDC), marketing automation platforms (e.g. Mailchimp, Marketo), analytics tools, content management systems, and social media (e.g. Hootsuite) to effectively segment customers, personalize marketing efforts, and optimize engagement and retention rates.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports on marketing performance and use data-driven insights to refine strategies for continuous improvement, with a focus on strategy, awareness, lead generation, and conversion.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required. 7+ years of Life Science/Biotech industry, particularly NGS or related genomic marketing experience, is strongly preferred.
  • Must have demonstrated track record of hands-on website content development, conducting webinars, social media channel cultivation, production of marketing/sales support materials.
  • Deep experience in omnichannel marketing and building effective communication strategies is essential.
  • Creative thinker, exceptional storyteller and communicator capable of explaining complex scientific and technical concepts in simple terms.
  • Proficiency in marketing automation and CRM tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Marketo, Salesforce).
  • Experience with core social media and digital marketing tools and metrics.
  • Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and capable of influencing cross-functional teams, including interfacing with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.

This position is hybrid in Fremont, CA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.

At Ultima Genomics, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $125,000 and $155,000, if performed in California, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.  Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.  This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; paid holidays; paid time off; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
