About the role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Marketing Director to lead and scale our marketing efforts. This role is pivotal in driving our strategic vision, managing high-performing teams, and ensuring our clients achieve outstanding outcomes. This position will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will work closely with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate is both analytical and creative, with deep expertise in building effective marketing funnels, copy, and ad creative development, email list building, and paid media strategies. This person needs to be an expert client communicator, have the ability to work through difficult challenges, and have tough conversations when needed.

Responsibilities 

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement the agency's overall marketing strategy, aligning with business goals.

  • Identify trends and opportunities in the digital marketing landscape to keep the agency ahead of competitors.

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to define and meet company revenue and client acquisition goals.

  • Help identify needs, gaps, and opportunities for the marketing department.

Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals with a main focus on three key teams:

    • Oversee the Internal Properties Team, ensuring the maintenance, growth, and optimization of owned media blog sites for traffic, engagement, and monetization.

    • Supervise the Funnel Strategy Team, ensuring the development of effective, data-driven sales and lead generation funnels that align with client goals and industry best practices.

    • Manage the Content Team, guiding the creation of high-quality, SEO-driven, and audience-focused content that supports both client and internal objectives.

  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented team culture.

  • Support recruitment, training, and development of new marketing team members to build a high-performing team.

Account Strategy Support:

  • Partner with the Growth Strategists to develop comprehensive marketing strategies tailored to individual client needs.

  • Attend client calls as a senior expert, providing high-level insights, and strategic recommendations, and add value to key discussions when needed.

  • Collaborate with the Growth Strategist to analyze client data and translate it into actionable marketing plans.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering expertise in high-level marketing strategy and funnel optimization to enhance client outcomes.

  • Assist in identifying opportunities for cross-channel integration and scaling strategies to maximize client ROI.

  • Support proposal development and pitch efforts for potential and existing clients by presenting innovative solutions and strategic frameworks.

  • Help ensure alignment between client expectations, strategic plans, and execution teams.

Requirements

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in marketing leadership roles, preferably in an agency or fast-paced environment.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field

  • Skills & Expertise:

    • Proven expertise in full-funnel marketing 

    • Demonstrated success in managing and scaling high-performing teams

    • Expertise in SEO, content marketing, and blog property management is a strong plus.

    • Hands-on experience with digital advertising platforms is a plus (Google Ads, Facebook/Meta, TikTok, etc.)

    • Strong understanding of paid media strategies, sales funnel optimization, and creative content production.

    • Strong analytical skills and experience using tools like Google Analytics, data visualization platforms, and CRMs, GA4, GTM, Google Sheets, Everflow, etc.

    • Exceptional project management and organizational skills.

    • Experience with page builder tools like Clickfunnels, Unbounce, GoHighLevel or similar.

    • Experience setting up email campaigns in CRM/ESPs like Hubspot, Active Campaign, Salesforce, Mailchimp, or similar.

    • Experience with using automation tools like Zapier, Make, or something similar. 

    • Highly detail-oriented with an exceptional eye for accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of project execution.

    • Organized and solution-focused, with a "Type A" personality: driven, meticulous, and always striving for perfection.

    • Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to wear multiple hats and solve complex problems.

    • Strong critical thinking, detail orientation, and multitasking skills.

    • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide diverse teams toward achieving shared goals.

    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients, team members, and stakeholders.

  • Compenstation

    • $120,000+ DOE

    • Our office is in Laguna Beach, CA. While candidates within a nearby radius are highly desired, we are open to remote applicants with the right experience.
