Job Description

Gunderson Dettmer has an opening for a Marketing Coordinator.  The Marketing Coordinator will work under the supervising Business Development Specialist to assist in the execution of programs and initiatives.  This position to eligible for fully remote work from any of our US offices.  Specifically, the role includes two areas of support:

  1. Regional. Supporting local business development projects, including the preparation of new business pitches, client presentations, research projects and other related tasks as requested by regional partners. This is the primary responsibility.
  2. Global. Working with the marketing team in Silicon Valley and other offices to support a variety of marketing, communications and business development projects and tasks that benefit the firm as a whole.
Job Responsibilities
Supporting Client Development
  1. Prepare marketing materials for new business. Develop, compile and proofread pitch decks, letters, lawyer biographies and practice descriptions, and follow-through on distribution.
  2. Support as necessary firm-hosted events and seminars. Responsibilities may  include distribution of invitations and follow-up mailings, tracking attendees, collateral production, logistics implementation, and on-site support.
  3. Assist in the preparation of content marketing materials like alerts, articles and other publications for distribution to practice and/or office-specific mailing lists and contacts.
Research and Data
  1. Maintain relevant databases of lawyer experience, assist in data collection from attorneys, tracking and reporting of data.
  2. Prepare reports with data from programs such as PitchBook and Aderant for business development purposes
  3. Assist in compiling research on key clients, industries and competitors, in the region and/or practice group, including business trends and competitive landscape.
Marketing Materials
  1. Assist in updating practice, office- and region-specific marketing collateral and other marketing resources including content intended for the website as directed.
  2. May assist with organizing and confirming local sponsorships. Responsibilities include ad creation, tracking registration lists, ordering giveaway and promotional items, and file management.
Collaboration
  1. Serve as a member of the firmwide marketing team and undertake other tasks or team-based project as assigned.
  2. Understand the firm’s brand values and collaborate with the marketing team to uphold brand standards and manage inventory of collateral pieces.
Job Requirements
Experience
  1. Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a professional services organization or equivalent corporate environment.
Essential Skills
  1. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  2. Proficiency in MS Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and OneNote.
  3. Ability and interest to learn new software
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills, a sense of humor and the ability to work in a team-based environment with a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude.
  5. Ability to apply directions, multi-task and work quickly within a framework where priorities often shift and/or conflict.
  6. Intellectual curiosity about technology markets and a desire to learn.
  7. High level of attention to detail and meticulous follow-through.
  8. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
Educational Requirements
  1. BS/BA degree, with a focus in marketing, communications or related area preferred.
Status
  1. Full Time, Non-Exempt.

The anticipated starting salary for this position  is $60,000 to $75,000 annually, dependent upon qualifications, location and experience.
