The OpportunityFlock Safety is transforming public safety and security by equipping law enforcement agencies and commercial organizations with AI-driven technology to deliver measurable outcomes—not just technology solutions. As we scale, we need a Manager of Solution Engineering to lead a team of high-performing Solution Engineers (SEs) and ensure customers see the tangible impact of Flock’s platform.
The Solution Engineering Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring that every customer engagement is focused on aligning solutions to real-world outcomes—from reducing crime to improving investigative workflows. This role will require a deep understanding of customer priorities, a structured approach to technical sales, and the ability to develop SEs into trusted advisors.
Some challenges you’ll tackle
Lead a team of Solution Engineers, ensuring they are effectively aligning Flock’s platform to customer value and delivering impactful technical sales engagements.
Guide the team in conducting thorough discovery sessions to identify customer pain points, success metrics, and business priorities.
Ensure Solution Engineers develop and execute compelling demonstrations that align to real-world customer stories and use cases.
Oversee the creation of Statements of Work (SOWs), Proof of Concept (POC) plans, and deployment plans, ensuring customers have a clear roadmap for implementation and success.
Collaborate with Sales leadership to strategize and optimize presales team engagement in high-impact deals.
Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to ensure the SE team is positioned to support new releases and evolving customer needs.
Manage the Solution Engineering team’s day-to-day operations, including workload balancing, deal support, and professional development.
Track key performance metrics and provide regular coaching, training, and structured enablement for Solution Engineers to improve their effectiveness.
Act as a key liaison between sales leadership and other internal teams, driving alignment on go-to-market strategies.
About You
5+ years of experience in technical presales or solution engineering, with a track record of leading customer-facing engagements.
2+ years of experience managing a Solution Engineering or Sales Engineering team, with direct coaching and development of team members.
Strong ability to align technology solutions with customer value, ensuring the SE team leads with business impact rather than just product features.
Experience designing and delivering technical demonstrations and presentations tailored to diverse customer stakeholders.
Proven ability to guide teams in developing SOWs, POCs, and deployment plans that support smooth implementations.
Ability to partner with Sales, Product, and Engineering to refine presales processes, improve solution positioning, and drive technical sales strategy.
Self-starter mentality with a bias toward action, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage executive-level decision-makers and influence complex deals.

Complete training and gain proficiency in using internal operating systems and tooling.
The First 60 Days
Build relationships with Solutions Consultants and Solutions Engineers, as well as cross-functionally with Sales and Customer Success.
90 Days & Beyond
At this point, you’re the primary contact for the ICs on your team, and a key cross-functional partner, providing the best possible sales support. You’ll also begin to hire for your team.

The Technical Assessment: Our technical assessments seek to test the hard skills required to do the job. Engineers may find themselves in coding interviews or architecture discussions, sales roles may present mock discovery calls, and leadership roles may craft 90 day plans. Your recruiter will inform you of which assessment you will be assigned and ensure you are fully prepared for your big day.
The Panel: Learn more about the team, responsibilities, and workflows. You should be prepared to speak about past projects, how you collaborate and communicate with others, and how you live our values. Depending on the team and role you are interviewing for, you may meet with several teammates as well as cross-functional partners.
The Executive Review: A chance to meet an executive and view Flock from a different lens. Be prepared to ask well-thought-out questions about the company, culture, and more.
In this role, you’ll receive a starting salary of $124,800 and a variable bonus of $31,200, as well as Flock Safety Stock Options.
