Role Description:

The Manager of Social Strategy and Insights will report into the EVP, Strategy. This is a remote opportunity to mine social listening insights to support Carat's cultural media methodology that analyzes a brand's influence in culture. You will work with the Strategy lead and the Analytics team to pull and analyze social listening data for brands and their competitors to inform cultural media opportunities and best practices for media. Managers must proactively seek to understand broader trends impacting consumers, categories and culture related to their brand to help inform strategic recommendations for how brands win in culture. Due to the somewhat manual nature of some social listening tools, the Manager needs to take an analytical look at the data to ensure it is accurately reflecting brand conversation and make adjustments to methodology as needed.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Pull and analyze social listening insights from social tools and platforms
  • Works with Strategy & Analytics team to share back insights about top performing brands and hypotheses about what is driving velocity of conversation & buzz
  • Translates data into meaningful insights that unlock cultural media opportunities for brands
  • Monitors competitive activity to identify what is driving conversation about brands
  • Works with Strategy & Planning teams to understand which aspects of their media plans generated conversation and buzz

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in Social Strategy, Communications Strategy, or Strategic Media Planning
  • Familiarity with social listening tools (Brandwatch, Quid, Talkwalker, Meltwater, Sprinklr) and how to pull/translate data into insights in a compelling way
  • Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram, Snap, Reddit, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.
  • Ability to think outside the box and creatively interpret data/merge data sets to create a story
  • Ability to support insights with evidence
  • You can work collaboratively across teams and organizations but you are comfortable working independently on data pulls and insights work
  • To be successful in this role, it is important that you are proactive, curious, creative, analytical, and a team player
