We are currently seeking talented damages and forensic accounting professionals to join our growing office in Las Vegas in the role of Manager. The role is also hybrid work from home arrangement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Exceptional analytical skills, solid quantitative training, remarkable communication, documentation and writing skills, and creativity are the foundation for successful professionals at Secretariat. Successful candidates will join an expanding domestic and international business valuation and damages quantification practice. Our Los Angeles-based group works on large and complex commercial damages matters involving misappropriations of assets, post-acquisition disputes, forensic accounting investigations, and a myriad of other domestic and international disputes. These cases will give successful candidates exposure to unique, complex, interesting issues, often integrating finance, accounting, economics, and legal principles.

  • Conduct economic, valuation, financial, accounting, and industry research as needed.
  • Analyze financial and non-financial information, and report findings to other team members from public sources. Experience with S&P’s CapIQ is a plus.
  • Attention to detail is a must and significant experience with the preparation of damages models, forensic accounting investigative, and expert reports are a must.
  • with the preparation of critique reports examining the conclusions of other experts

Must be able to work independently in managing staff and communicating with experts, clients and counsel are a must.

  • Prepare for and attend hearings, trials and mediations, so as needed travel from time to time is required.
  • Manage the day-to-day requirements of multiple engagements and associated duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requisite professional designations and work experience:
    • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar, from an accredited university or college or MBA.
    • 4+ to 10 years of prior experience in economic damages and/or forensic accounting
    • Prior experience at one of the ‘Big Four’ accounting firms is a plus but will consider other commensurate experience in banking, mid-tier accounting firms or litigation support firms as well.
    • Holder of or pursuing CPA, CFF, CFA, CFE, ASA or ABV credentials is must.
  • Strong expert report writing skills to complement strong analytics and quantitative skills.
  • Able to quickly assimilate relevant information in unfamiliar situations and develop creative approaches and solutions necessary to resolve complex problems
  • The ability to manage and prioritize your time and your team’s time, potentially against a backdrop of competing deadlines
  • The ability to manage team members, both junior and senior, as well as external stakeholders
  • The ability to work independently whilst knowing which issues and risks need to be highlighted to senior staff, ideally accompanied by suggested viable solutions
  • Excellent analytical and problem resolution abilities
  • Excellent listening, verbal, written, technical, and presentation skills
  • The desire to join in with, and/or lead, auxiliary tasks associated with a growing practice within a rapidly growing firm.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint are a must. Expertise is SQl, R, and other database or statistical programs are a plus.
  • The ability to travel as needed but likely less than 10% of the time or less.
  • In addition to working in English, which is a requirement, working proficiency in a second non-English language is a plus and encouraged.

SALARY RANGE

$110,000 - $180,000
