Manager, Revenue Accounting - US CA Remote

ServiceTitan is seeking an ambitious, motivated Manager, Revenue Accounting to join our Accounting team in one of the fastest growing tech startups in Southern California, backed by the best VC firms in the SaaS space. The position reports directly to the Director, Revenue Accounting but will have close interaction with the revenue operations, deal desk, tax and billing teams. The position is primarily responsible for ensuring the proper application of the new revenue recognition standard (ASC 606) and improving the timeliness of GAAP and SaaS revenue metric reporting.

What you'll do: 

  • Partner with Director, Revenue Accounting and Technical Accounting to ensure revenues for all segments are accurately recorded in accordance with ASC 606 

  • Own end-to-end accounting for partner revenue workstreams (accruals, communication with partners, forecast vs. actual analyses, etc.)

  • Perform monthly and annual close activities which include analyzing accounts on a customer-level, preparing revenue journal entries, accounting for contract modifications, performing account reconciliation and flux analyses, and resolving issues as needed 

  • Collaborate with colleagues in FP&A to explain variances, provide inputs to forecast, and identify trends in revenue

  • Assisting with financial statement reporting over deferred revenue including deferred revenue rollforward, contract assets/liability rollforward, and calculation of the short term/long term classifications 

  • Support ongoing implementation and testing efforts related to new financial systems (Workday, Salesforce CPQ/Billing, etc.) 

  • Support internal and external audit process including preparing audit schedules, gathering supporting documentation for walkthroughs and testing, preparing/reviewing internal control steps Identify opportunities for automation and elimination of existing manual processes 

  • Other duties and projects as assigned by the Director, Revenue Accounting and Chief Accounting Officer

What you'll need: 

  • 5+ years of accounting experience; CPA preferred 

  • 2+ years of public accounting experience preferred 

  • Strong understanding of accounting theory (e.g. GAAP), including the new revenue standard (ASC 606) and revenue recognition for SaaS

  • Experience with revenue and deferred revenue reconciliations and journal entries Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel 

  • Experience with ERP Systems, especially in Workday/Intacct is a plus 

  • Experience with third-party close solutions (Blackline, Floqast) is a plus 

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results

ServiceTitan is committed to fair and equitable compensation for all of our employees. We thoughtfully consider a wide range of factors when determining individual compensation. The expected salary range for this role for candidates residing in the United States is between $105,000 USD - $150,000 USD. Compensation for candidates residing outside the United States will vary by location and the specific salary range will be discussed during the hiring process. Actual compensation for an individual may vary depending on skills, performance over time, qualifications, experience, and location.
