On the Publishing Operations team, we work closely with the RHCB division, processing correction files, managing expectations, creating cost-saving initiatives, and project support.

Responsibilities:

  1. Approving and maintaining accurate book specifications in the purchasing system, and issuing purchase orders to multiple vendors
  2. Continual date maintenance using vendor status reports
  3. Creating and advising on client schedules from acquisition to finished books
  4. Communicating to Inventory book statuses and shipping schedules
  5. Quality control checks of reprint samples, and follow up with vendors to solve production problems
  6. Coordinating with Managing Editorial release dates for correction files based on book delivery schedules, and tracking and routing printer proofs for approval
  7. Communication with Import Status team about overseas shipping authorizations and schedules
  8. Invoice resolution with Accounts Payable once books deliver

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years book production experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Meticulous organizational skills

  • Basic color theory from a print production perspective
  • Self-starter, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and experience with the Acrobat Adobe Suite and pre-flighting of files
  • Understanding vendor estimates and providing accurate costs for producing books
  • Experience with SAP purchasing system a plus
