Overview
The Manager, Patient Access Learning and Administration is responsible for the design, development, implementation, delivery, and maintenance of content, and other resources used for instructional purposes. The incumbent is also responsible for defining and codifying policies, procedures, and other administrative matters required for efficient and compliant patient access operations.
Responsibilities
- Define, codify, catalogue and communicate processes and procedures that ensure efficient and compliant patient access operations.
- Responsible for developing the learning strategy and related operations for the patient access team.
- Conducts needs analysis, designs, develops, integrates, and evaluates patient access learning and development content to include programs, modules, and lessons.
- Facilitates programs for a wide variety of audiences to include new hires, current employees, internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the onboarding experience for new patient access team members, ensuring familiarity with policies, procedures and practices.
- Identifies and maintains system for managing patient access documents to include version control, document retention policy, and appropriate access levels.
- Codifies patient access workflows, to ensure consistency in processes and procedures over time.
- Partners with sales training to design and facilitate training for new sales employees to ensure awareness of patient access policies, procedures, and practices.
- Contributes to the development of processes and procedures that ensure timely and compliant communications within patient access and cross-functionally.
- Works with the IT department to identify systems and other mechanisms necessary for data repositories and other patient access technology needs.
- Works with Compliance to support audits to ensure compliance objectives are met. May assist in identifying and facilitating remediation activities.
- Accountable for managing patient access projects to include timelines, milestones, and keeping stakeholders informed and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Develops process to document, and update patient access policies and procedures and ensures materials are disseminated to audiences as appropriate.
- Provide essential technical and administrative support, ensuring the field patient access team has what is needed to focus on the needs of their internal and external customers daily.
- Foster appropriate integration of multiple internal and external teams regarding patient access services and programs. Facilitate the resources required to achieve functional objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, marketing, or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare environment, in roles involving patient advocacy, reimbursement, and marketing/sales including previous patient access management experience.
- Ability to exhibit agility in an evolving environment.

- Ability to read and understand complex legal contract documents.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and comply with HIPPA guidelines.
- Strong track record of driving results in a complex internal and external environment

- Working Condition: Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations. Periodic overnight travel. Travel up to 25%

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $160,000. Final determination of base salary offered will depend on several factors relevant to the position, including but not limited to candidate skills, experience, education, market location, and business need. This role will include eligibility for bonus and equity. The total compensation package will also include additional elements such as multiple paid time off benefits, various health insurance options, retirement benefits and more. Details about these and other offerings will be provided at the time a conditional offer of employment is made.
