POSITION SUMMARY:

IT Infrastructure team implements firm-wide solutions with a cloud smart philosophy. The manager of IT Infrastructure is a technical leader providing direction for today and tomorrow. The manager has oversight for delivering and implementing Milliman’s cloud-based or data center solutions for identity and access management, wide-area and local-area networking, automation and integration, systems engineering, endpoint management, DR operations, and any escalated issues. This role will find additional avenues and channels to collaborate and engage with Enterprise Architects, Practice IT leaders, information security professionals, and the myriad of business and other technical colleagues across the firm. This is a remote role and reports to the Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations. Duties may change or be assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Extensively partners with Enterprise Architects to implement technology solutions that will transform and enhance Milliman’s business processes.
  • Manages the development of and implements cloud infrastructure solutions on IaaS and PaaS platforms.
  • Manages and provisions infrastructure through code using tools like Terraform or Chef.
  • Plans, organizes, coordinates, and manages network, systems and application deployment either hosted in the cloud or data center in accordance with ITIL best practices.
  • Effectively manages a highly technical engineering team, driving their work and performance, including prioritizing and assigning efforts, conducting 1:1’s and performance reviews, hiring and firing, and coaching and mentoring.
  • Execute Project management activities for roadmap items including work planning, status reporting, and project financial management.
  • Provides metrics to show progress towards business objectives.
  • Uses monitoring to ensure infrastructure reliability.
  • Participates in 4-day in-person management meetings every three to four months per annum.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • BS Degree in Computer Science or related discipline desired
  • The ideal candidate must have minimum 3 years of managerial experience
  • The ideal candidate must have minimum 8 years of experience in cloud/network/system infrastructure, in engineering scalable and highly available solutions, in executing and implementing designs, or in developing turnkey integrations for an enterprise.
  • The ideal candidate must have minimum 6 years of experience supporting and problem-solving in Microsoft M365 and Azure/AWS/GCP IaaS and PaaS using automated pipelines.
  • The ideal candidate must have minimum 3 years of experience with Vendor Management, including the ability to perform RFP’s and evaluate, test, and recommend solutions.
  • Must be able to work long hours during crisis situations or provide emergency phone and/or on-site support during non-standard hours as needed.
  • Must be a facilitator, knowledge seeker and have phenomenal communication skills.

LOCATION:

This is a remote position. The expected application deadline for this job is July 30th, 2024.

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this role is $107,000 to $217,000, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
