We are looking for an experienced, high-energy Manager, Data Engineering to lead our – Aceyus Data Engineering team. As the Manager of Aceyus Data Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's Aceyus data stack including the Aceyus Vault enterprise data warehouse, data integration modules and stock reports and real time dashboards. Your role will involve leading a team of data engineers/developers and ensuring that the Aceyus data stack meets the needs of both internal and external stakeholders. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive Aceyus data strategy, promote Aceyus adoption, and enhance the developer experience. You will apply your technical chops, leadership skills, software development methodologies, best practices, and proven processes to consistently deliver great quality product in a predictable manner. You will empower your engineers and leaders to make the biggest impact possible while guiding them to reach their professional goals.This position is open to qualified applicants nationwide. Candidates residing within 50 miles of our San Ramon, CA or San Francisco, CA offices are required to be in the office three days a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of developers responsible for the Aceyus data stack and reports.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative environment to drive continuous improvement and excellence. 
  • Develop and execute the organization's Aceyus data strategy in alignment with business objectives. Identify opportunities to leverage Aceyus for innovation, integration, and business growth.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of Aceyus data components. 
  • Ensure adherence to best practices, standards, and security protocols. Monitor performance and scalability of APIs.
  • Champion the developer experience by designing and maintaining an intuitive, user-friendly data set and strategy. 
  • Implement features and tools to support data engineers/developers in discovering, understanding, and integrating with the Aceyus data stack.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including product management, engineering, and business development, to understand Aceyus data requirements and prioritize development efforts. Engage with external developers and partners to gather feedback and improve the Aceyus data stack and stock reports and dashboards.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of Aceyus data and related resources. Provide support to developers through forums, documentation, and tutorials. Address developer inquiries and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Implement robust security measures to protect Aceyus meta and sensitive customer data. Stay informed about security threats and compliance requirements relevant to team management. Implement necessary controls and protocols to ensure compliance.
  • Monitor Aceyus data usage, performance metrics, and analytics to identify areas for optimization. Implement optimizations to improve reliability, efficiency, and responsiveness of Aceyus databases and integrations.
  • Support the professional growth and development of team members through coaching, training, and mentorship. Provide opportunities for skill enhancement and knowledge sharing.
  • Work with key stakeholders to design, create, and develop report/dashboard visualization and data element standards across multiple product offerings
  • Develop and maintain user guides for data warehouse best practices and available data elements across all key datasources.
  • Work with the technical teams to standardize visualization controls within the Aceyus application to support ‘ease of use’ functions for all users.
  • Work with customers and partners to develop corporate branded visualizations, layouts, reports, and dashboard offerings.
  • Work with both sales and technical teams to understand the ‘why’ behind customer requirements to help tell the story or context behind the data itself.
  • Partner with technical teams to influence UI/UX within the Aceyus application and help shape the visual aspects of the product moving forward.
  • Research industry trends for data visualization, KPIs, and other complex analytic solutions designed to help present data to key people within an organization to provide insights and ultimately take action, particularly on the data portion.
  • Ability to work across multiple facets of a project and juggle multiple tasks at the same time.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years in enterprise database or software engineering leadership role with experience in software and database development, with a focus on data model development and data integration approaches.
  • CS/EE degree or equivalent with 6+ years of proven related experience
  • Prior experience in a leadership or management role, with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Strong understanding of database design principles, RESTful architecture, and web services standards.
  • Proficiency in database management platforms and BI tools
  • Experience with developer portal platforms and tools.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and protocols relevant to database management.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Attention to detail and personal pride in work undertaken.
  • Ability to self-start and self-direct work in an unstructured environment, comfortable dealing with ambiguity
  • Strong communication skills, and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of database management platforms such as BigQuery, AlloyDB, Postgresql, MSSQL.
  • Experience creating dashboards/visualizations using Data Studio, Looker, Tableau (or similar).
  • Proficiency with t-SQL, PostgreSQL, or any other database scripting language.
  • Cloud platform experience such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience in successfully leading architecture modernization initiative.

Additionally, the total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, stock, and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.

All compensation and benefits are subject to the requirements and restrictions set forth in the applicable plan documents and any written agreements between the parties.

The US base salary range for this role is below. $130,800—$252,800 USD
