The Opportunity

The Manager, Business Systems role will be responsible for overseeing Ulteig’s Business Systems team and optimizing business systems to enhance operational efficiency, improve data management, and support our strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business systems analysis, project management, and a deep understanding of engineering consulting operations and related system needs.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Effective collaboration with peers, team members, and senior management to define and implement the business systems strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the analysis, design, and implementation of business systems.
  • Evaluate existing business systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations for enhancements.
  • Oversee the implementation of new systems, ensuring they meet the needs of the firm and comply with industry standards.
  • Manage multiple projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
  • Develop project plans, allocate resources, and monitor progress against project milestones.
  • Ensure effective data governance and management practices are in place, supporting decision-making and operational excellence.
  • Analyze data trends and provide insights to inform business strategies.
  • Develop training programs for staff on new systems and processes to ensure smooth adoption and utilization.
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for business systems users.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure business systems meet their needs.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Stay informed on best practices and trends for business systems and related technologies.
  • Consistently exercises discretion and judgment as related to the performance of duties and responsibilities.
  • Manage subject technical experts in various business systems platforms.
  • Effectively develop and manage a budget for the business systems group, including enterprise-wide applications.
  • Support vendor relationships for business systems software, advocate for Ulteig maintaining a partner-level relationship with key vendors
  • Negotiate pricing and risk posture on software contracts to control costs and limit company exposure.

    What We Expect from You

    • Bachelor’s degree in technology-related field; Master’s degree preferred.
    • 7+ years of experience in business systems analysis, project management, or a similar role, preferably within an engineering or consulting environment.
    • Prior experience leading, scaling, and integrating cloud-based ERP systems.
    • Proven experience in leading system implementation projects and managing cross-functional teams.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in business intelligence tools, project management software, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
    • PMP or similar certification is a plus.

    Additional Opportunity Details:
    Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $127,500- $172,500
    * Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job-specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
