Position Overview
The Billing and Collections Manager is responsible for overseeing the billing and collections processes within the organization. This role involves managing the billing team, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, and developing strategies to improve the collection of outstanding debts.
Position Holder is Accountable For:
- Billing Management: Oversee the preparation and distribution of accurate invoices to clients.
- Collections Oversight: Manage the collection of outstanding payments, ensuring timely and effective recovery of debts.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the billing and collections team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to billing and collections.
- Customer Relations: Address and resolve billing discrepancies and disputes with clients.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on billing and collections activities and performance.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve billing and collections efficiency.
- System Management: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of billing and collections systems and software.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding billing and collections issues.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' of experience in billing and collections, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency in billing and collections software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
