Position Overview
Stellar Virtual is seeking an experienced Manager of Assessment Services to join our dynamic team in Texas. This pivotal role ensures the quality, reliability, and effectiveness of our testing applications and products. As the Manager of Assessment Services, you will lead a team of dedicated testers, oversee all aspects of the testing process, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain our high standards of excellence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- One Number: 95% Student Participation
- Develop comprehensive testing strategies, plans, and objectives that align with project scope, timelines, and resource availability.
- Oversee test execution, coordinate efforts, assign tasks, monitor progress, and track and resolve defects.
- Build and manage a high-performing testing team, including recruitment, training, mentorship, and fostering a positive, results-driven work environment.
- Supervise all assessment contractors, including assigning projects, tracking hours, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Continuously evaluate and refine testing methodologies, introducing innovative tools and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Create and maintain detailed test documentation, generate metrics, and provide stakeholders with transparent progress and quality reports.
- Partner with academic teams to understand their needs, ensure seamless communication with Stellar Virtual families, and participate in After Action Reviews (AARs).
- Coordinate with operations, academic leads, and faculty to schedule and organize exams.
- Oversee the setup and management of test sites, including handling test data, maintaining infrastructure, and managing the shipping and receiving of devices, testing materials, and supplies.
- Collect, organize, and safeguard confidential test data and student records while maintaining databases and generating required reports.
- Promote a culture of quality by advocating for testing best practices and staying informed on emerging trends and technologies in the field.
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of this position and in accordance with Stellar Virtual business needs regarding testing-based responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience with personnel and team management.
- Background in logistical planning and records management.
- Teaching and/or school counseling experience is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of state testing procedures and district testing programs
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Outstanding time-management and organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in student data-management systems, Google Suite products, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate multiple projects to meet strict deadlines.
- Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical behavior.
- Proven ability to maintain a calm and service-oriented demeanor in high-pressure situations.
- Skilled at translating technical and complex information into accessible communication.
Education & Certification Requirements
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred. Significant experience and proven ability in a related position or industry will substitute for a four-year degree.
