Your new role: We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our Finance Team. The Management Accountant will support the Financial controller in various transactional finance duties, including analysing financial information and implementing strategies to enhance business performance. This role involves preparing and developing findings from financial reports, maintaining financial policies, and ensuring effective communication with management on all financial matters.

Ideally, you will be AAT qualified/Accountancy degree and preferably already studying for CIMA/ACCA and looking to progress with your further studies in which DCA will support you through the apprenticeship scheme. Previous experience working in a finance department is essential.

Salary: £32,000 - £42,000 pa

Requirements

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and accrual/prepayment journals.
  • Manage customer (internal and external) invoices and handle related queries.
  • Prepare customer invoices and manage credit control.
  • Process payment runs.
  • Prepare VAT returns and process employee expenses.
  • Assist the financial controller with audits and other reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations.

Experience /Attributes 

  • Desire to progress towards a professional accountancy qualification.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a finance role.
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of basic financial accounting standards and control environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships.
