Your Mission

The Data Scientist, Security Operations will develop and operationalize machine learning models as part of our Anti-Cheat efforts.

What you bring to the table

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Develop tools to help find, monitor, and investigate emerging threats targeting our games and our players.
  • Analyze security log data from numerous heterogeneous security devices using advanced statistical techniques such as data analysis, data mining, optimization tools, and machine learning techniques and statistics.
  • Build tools to automatically report on system irregularities and issues related to improper data access patterns using anomaly detection and event correlations.
  • Apply technical competence and analytical capabilities to improve security efficiency and streamline/automate Security Operations processes.
  • Research, educate and apply knowledge of existing and emerging cybersecurity data science principles, theories, and techniques.
  • Distill complex information into actionable recommendations.

Minimum Requirements

Experience

  • Prototype-to-production engineering skills in Python, including standard processes such as source control, accurate documentation, versioning, testing, containerization, CI/CD, and task scheduling.
  • Advanced analytics (statistical power analysis, significance testing, t-tests, ANOVA) and proficient SQL skills.
  • Machine learning experience, i.e. regression, classification, and clustering algorithms. Time-series analysis, Bayesian methods, and survival analysis.
  • Experience with cybersecurity data sets and applying machine learning techniques to aid in security and/or threat hunting.
  • Engineering experience in at least one cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Basic understanding of game security, game development, and anti-cheat software.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Master’s degree or equivalent work experience in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
