About the project:
As a Looker Core & LookML Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and scaling executive-level dashboards, delivering data-driven insights to leadership. You will be hands-on in designing, building, and optimizing Looker models and visualizations, while also guiding and mentoring junior data visualization engineers. In addition to Looker (LookML), you will leverage Looker Studio to create dynamic and flexible reporting solutions. Your expertise in LookML, dashboard performance optimization, Looker Studio, and governance best practices will be instrumental in building a trusted and scalable analytics platform.

You will be:
- designing, developing, and maintaining LookML models and explores, ensuring best practices in architecture, governance, and security,
- optimizing query performance and collaborating with data engineers to ensure efficient data structuring and ingestion,
- building and optimizing dashboards in Looker and Looker Studio, ensuring seamless integration with BigQuery and other cloud data sources,
- developing interactive, self-serve reporting solutions to empower business users, while ensuring consistency in branding and storytelling,
- working closely with stakeholders to translate reporting needs into scalable solutions and mentoring a junior data visualization engineer,
- implementing data governance, security best practices, and CI/CD processes for LookML and dashboards,
- creating documentation and training materials to drive Looker and Looker Studio adoption across the organization.
Requirements
Your profile:
- 5+ years of experience in Looker development, with deep expertise in LookML modeling and dashboarding,
- hands-on experience with Looker Studio, including data blending, calculated fields, and visualization best practices,
- strong SQL skills, particularly in BigQuery or other cloud-based data warehouses,
- experience optimizing LookML performance and writing efficient queries to handle large datasets,
- hands-on experience with Git/GitHub for version control in LookML development,
- understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, normalization, dimensional modeling),
- strong ability to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions,
- experience collaborating with executives and business stakeholders to define KPIs and data visualization strategies,
- proven ability to mentor junior engineers, fostering growth and technical excellence,
- excellent communication and storytelling skills, able to explain data insights to non-technical audiences,
- passion for data governance, security, and best practices in enterprise analytics.
Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.
Nice to have:
- experience with CI/CD pipelines for LookML deployment,
- familiarity with dbt and modern data engineering practices,
- knowledge of other BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) and their integration with cloud data warehouses.
