The Opportunity:
This role is in support of the Military Sealift Commands routine maintenance logistics support and planning efforts. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to support our depot level overhaul engineering planning team, the Availability Planning Cell (APC), focusing on efficient and accurate procurement packages, inventory management, and data entry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy in both database and administrative roles. This role requires familiarity with Military Sealift Command Logistics processes, a dedication to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position also supports CACI procurement activities and requires knowledge of relevant government contracting regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of ship availability work packages (depot level) to identify all necessary materials, equipment, and services for Government-Furnished requirements.

  • Oversee the preparation and submittal of procurement packages (MOR/Commodity Order), ensuring adherence to all technical specifications and compliance standards (e.g., SWI, PMIA, T-ALT, VRR).

  • Monitor ongoing procurement actions, proactively identifying and resolving issues that could delay the timely delivery of critical materials and equipment.

  • Maintain and update comprehensive, accurate listings of GFM/GFE specific to each vessel availability work package.

  • Develop and maintain detailed tracking systems for GFM/GFE delivery schedules, ensuring materials are procured and delivered before project start dates.

  • Coordinate regularly with ILS and MSC N4 Logistics representatives to monitor delivery timelines, address potential delays, and provide accurate status updates.

  • Analyze and maintain GFM reports, ensuring timely updates are communicated to PPE and APC teams on procurement progress and delivery milestones.

  • Identify and escalate issues related to missing or delayed GFM, collaborating with stakeholders to resolve challenges or propose alternative procurement options.

  • Work collaboratively with APC teams to address support needs and ensure project schedules are consistently updated to reflect material availability.

  • Manage all procurement-related communication, documentation, and reporting to ensure alignment with APC and PPE teams’ objectives and deadlines.


Qualifications:

Required: 
• Secret Clearance
• High school diploma and 7+ years of experience; Associates degree and 5+ years of relevant experience; Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience
• Proven experience in data entry and logistics functions in a related field.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFAR and other relevant contractual requirements is essential.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and apart of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desired:

• Strong data entry skills and experience with the customers Shipboard Automated Maintenance Management (SAMM) database for afloat and ashore.
• Experience related to the MSC Logistics software’s including CMLS, PMT, Protrack, ShipCLIP.
• Experience related to the logistic processes of MSC including processing Material and Serivce Order Requests, ERP functions, SPS contracting and GFM Reporting

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$47,100-$96,500
