The details:
- Permanent Full Time
- 9 day fortnight & working every third Saturday & Sunday
- $73,233 pa + 12% super
- Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream B) - Level 8 of EBA5
76 hour fortnight - Location: Will work across the region
Start 2025 in a challenging and rewarding role! As a local laws Ranger, you will be joining a team of 38+ focused on...
- communicating with members of the public to educate them on various State and Council regulations, sometimes in difficult situations to achieve positive compliance outcomes
- undertaking investigations and initiate enforcement action responsibly, including issuing fines and seizing animals in sensitive situations, to deliver on public safety expectation whilst being an ambassador for Council
- keeping a comprehensive record of all customer engagements, interviews and compliance actions
In addition, you will be:
- performing compliance patrols within the region’s streets, parks and public areas, proactively engaging with persons in the community
- impounding vehicles, animals and abandoned goods
- keeping customers engaged on the status of their service requests
- delivering quality advice, direction, and solutions to the community
Please note: The Local Laws Ranger positions require successful applicants to be available to work any 5 out of 7 days (1 in 3 weekends) as part of the ordinary hours and participate in council's "After Hours On-Call and Programmed Overtime Roster" service. This will include working every third weekend (Saturday and Sunday).

About you
To be a success in this role you will...
- have strong interpersonal and communications skills and experience, enabling you to educate and engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders in sometime very challenging situations.
- Display -
- personal attributes for being an ambassador of Council
- constructive and engaging teamwork
- a capability to work autonomously and comfortably with others while working remotely across our vast region.
- Proven experience in managing a busy workload and actioning a range of administration tasks using online tools, technology, and software.
- Experience or qualifications in investigations, enforcement or animal management would be highly regarded.
