Job Summary:

Hanover Bank is looking for a full-time Loan Packager Team Lead - SBA. The Loan Packager Team Lead - SBA reports directly to the SVP Director of Eligibility & Small Loans. The position is responsible for overseeing the relationship liaisons who are primarily responsible for completing File Submissions to SBA and ensuring all items necessary for SBA Submission have been received and reviewed. Responsible for SBA submission, ensuring files are complete before pulling an SBA Loan Number. 



Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage & develop Relationship Liaisons. 
  • Create, and maintain effective procedures for the SBA GGLS Team. 
  • Prepare, monitor, and update weekly pipeline reports for the SBA Team. 
  • Work closely with Eligibility, Government Guaranteed Lending Liaisons, Business Development Officers, Credit Managers, and Underwriters to get a loan from submission to closing. 
  • Complete & review file review checklists, including the review of entity documents, Operating Agreements/By-Laws, tax returns, financials, debt schedules, due diligence searches, and SBA Forms. 
  • Create and review Submission checklists to assist Government Guaranteed Lending Liaison & Business Development Officer with the documents that are required prior to submission to the SBA. 
  • Prepare/Review and audit SBA Forms & documents that need to be sent for signature during submission. 
  • Review Terms and conditions and create a review for Eligibility to review before sending it to the closer. 
  • Oversee Etran Entry and Submission as well as uploading documents and clearing validation. 
  • Assure that all customer files are complete and in compliance with regulatory agencies and internal policies. 
  • Review loan documents closely to ensure that they accurately reflect the intentions of the SBA Authorization/Terms and Conditions. 
  • Review quarterly SBA loan exceptions and assist in post-close review and searches. 
  • Manage web-based loan software and any procedural, workflow changes, and updates, when needed. 
  • Make recommendations for procedural changes to increase efficiency. 
  • Periodicly follow up with SBA on any necessary action items including responding to screen-outs and submitting modifications post-approval. 
  • Ensure customer privacy, security of files, and appropriate staff access items. 
  • Attend periodic SBA Training when provided by the Bank as well as complete all necessary ABA Training requirements set by the Bank. Remain current on regulatory changes affecting SOP with SBA.


Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of SBA Origination/Packaging experience. 
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred but not required.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of USDA, SBA 7a, 504, and Express Lines of Credit.
  • Knowledge of SBA Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Promote a teamwork environment and actively participate as a team player with the ability to solve problems independently.
  • Communicate effectively and constructively with brokers, borrowers, SBA GGLS Team, underwriters, to enable the loans to move to closing.

Salary: $84,000.00 - $101,000.00; placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill level.
