We are thrilled to offer the exciting opportunity for a charismatic, enthusiastic and passionate medical student to join us as a Live Mock MMI Interviewer at Contour MedPrep.

Hence, we pride ourselves on facilitating professional and highly accurate Live Mock MMIs, where students are interviewed by medical students who have successfully sat the MMI, and have been trained to provide constructive, practical and highly personalised feedback.

The Role 

At Contour MedPrep, we are driven by our mission to support students as they prepare for one of the most important and challenging stages of their journey into medical and dental school: the interview. Whether it’s the MMI for most universities in Australia, or the panel interview for UNSW and JCU, this stage can often be the make-or-break point in a student’s application. We understand that many students struggle with confidence, structure, and technique during interviews, and that’s why our Interview Course is designed to offer students the guidance they need to stand out and be at their best. 

As a Live Mock MMI Interviewer, you will play a vital role in preparing students for their interviews. Using the comprehensive training and guides we provide, coupled with the insights and expertise from your own successful MMI preparation, you’ll be able to guide aspiring medical students through their own interview challenges. By simulating the role of an interviewer, you will create an accurate environment for students to practise, receive constructive feedback, and refine their skills. 

Each Mock MMI will last 2 hours. In the first hour, you will facilitate 6 x 10-minute MMI stations, asking the questions and writing detailed written feedback for 6 different students. Then, after a 5-minute break, you will complete 6 x 8-minute feedback stations with those same 6 students, giving detailed and interactive verbal feedback. 

This role is collaborative and dynamic, allowing you to be part of a highly-talented team whilst also working independently with students. You will work closely with other interviewers and the interview facilitator to provide students with a seamless and supportive experience. Your role will be completely remote, allowing you to balance your professional and academic commitments, while still having a profound impact on future medical and dental students.

Comprehensive Training & Support

When you join, you'll be properly onboarded with all the training, support and personal feedback you need to thrive in the role. You'll work closely with our leadership team and Head of Interviews to upskill and refine your communication and critical thinking skills, and you’ll be thoroughly introduced to all of our software, processes and program structure.

By the end of your initial training, the role will become second-nature to you and you’ll know our programs and processes inside-out! You’ll feel confident conducting interviews and providing comprehensive feedback for students.

After the initial training, you’ll receive ongoing feedback to help accelerate your development within the role. There will also be regular check-ins to keep everyone on the same page and to help you succeed in the role. 

Key Responsibilities

As a Live Mock MMI Interviewer, your main responsibilities include: 

• Pre-Interview Preparation: Thoroughly read and understand your assigned scenario, questions, answer guide and suggested responses. 
• Conduct the Interview: Ask the provided interview questions and carefully keep track of 6 x 10-minute stations, whilst writing thorough written feedback and scores in our provided feedback spreadsheet. 

• Give Verbal Feedback: After students complete the interview, we enter the feedback phase. During 6 x 8-minute feedback stations, you get to provide interactive and personalised feedback to each of the students, as well as answering any questions.
• Complete Initial Training: Complete our comprehensive initial onboarding and training program as you get started in the role. We’ll make sure you feel thoroughly equipped with all the support, software and guides you need, as well as a chance to practise and improve!

Expected Work Hours

• You will be contracted from Mid-October to Early January.
• Minimum of 20 x 2-Hour Mock MMIs, with at least 15 Mock MMIs between Nov 15 - Nov 30.
• NOTE: The time requirements above are estimated. There is an option to work more or less, depending on your schedule and preference, so just let us know!

Compensation

• $70 per Mock MMI for First 15 Mock MMIs. [Trainee Interviewer]
• $80 per Mock MMI for 15th to 30th Mock MMI. [Qualified Interviewer]
• $100 per Mock MMI from 31st Mock MMI onwards. [Expert Interviewer]
• Each Mock MMI lasts 2 Hours.

Experience Requirements

• Mandatory

• 🎓 Studying Medicine or Dentistry in Australia (or already graduated)

• 🕒 Prior Tutoring (ideally MMI or Panel Interview) Experience
