Job Description
The Specialist provides paralegal support for Client Legal Services (CLS) attorneys and plays a key part in helping clients through the litigation process. The role focuses on managing litigated civil matters, primarily personal injury defense cases. Under general attorney supervision, this individual facilitates the discovery process, including reviewing and organizing file materials, obtaining medical records, communicating with clients and vendors, and scheduling independent medical exams. The role involves significant phone and/or email communication, particularly during the early stages of a case, followed by a waiting period for responses. Strong triage skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with the identification and summarizing of relevant issues; continually monitor issues and update attorneys as appropriate
• Communicate effectively with business partners
• Respond to discovery demands, including drafting responses and coordinating with clients for necessary information
• Arrange independent medical exams, order and review medical records through vendor portals, and communicate with expert vendors
• Prepare initial pleadings and motions for attorney review
• Assist attorneys in preparing materials for trial, arbitration, or mediation
• Organize claim files and prepare them for attorney review
Education:
• 4-year Bachelor's Degree
or
• Paralegal certificate
Experience:
• 0-2 years experience in civil litigation, personal injury, or defense (Preferred)
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• This job does not have supervisory duties.

Compensation offered for this role is $24.71 - 41.47 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
