We’re looking for a Legal Counsel, Product to help shape our all-in-one privacy solution and join our mission to show the world that protecting your privacy online can be simple.



The Opportunity

In this role, you will provide direct day-to-day legal support and advice on DuckDuckGo’s global offerings throughout the product life cycle. You'll work closely with product managers, engineers, copywriters, and other stakeholders across the company to help identify and manage a wide range of legal issues, including consumer protection, privacy, data security, and intellectual property. You will also draft, review, and interpret a wide array of commercial agreements, including SaaS contracts, IP licenses, strategic partnerships, and more.


What You Will Bring to DuckDuckGo

  • A curious and open mind with a learner’s mindset.
  • Skills to wrangle vague problems, propose innovative solutions, and execute them efficiently.
  • 5+ years of experience working on tech-related legal issues (e.g., consumer protection, privacy, data security, and/or intellectual property);
  • Broad legal knowledge that enables you to spot and resolve a variety of legal issues in product offerings (e.g., regulatory, contract, IP, privacy, and consumer protection).
  • Licensed to practice law from an ABA-accredited law school and membership in good standing in one U.S. state bar.
