Learning & Development Practice Leader – Project Management 

 

This position will accelerate and align our Project Management (PM) learning and development programs enterprise wide. The Project Management Practice Lead will be accountable for continuously innovating a robust learning framework and initiatives to build and deepen this capability across the company.  

 

Recognized as an expert in learning theory, curriculum development, and project management, the leader will provide consultation and thought leadership to ICF’s PMO and business leaders to build enterprise project management skills and capabilities. Expertise or experience in innovation and design thinking is a plus. Working as part of the L&D team and partnered with corporate and Group business leaders, this practice leader will have the opportunity to contribute to other company-wide learning programs and evaluate learning outcomes. 

 

Main responsibilities:  

  • In partnership with the PMO, business leaders, and the learning team, continue to refine an overall framework for developing and measuring the effectiveness of project management training for ICF employees. 

  • Facilitate the effort to define expectations of great project management behaviors; translate into how employees operate and are held accountable and recognize and reward success. 

  • Implement our learning strategy for improving project management capabilities across ICF; prioritize and sequence areas (skills and audiences) for focus and impact. 

  • Assess learning programs to ensure they continue to align with ICF business strategies. Manage and continuously improve existing corporate and Group specific project management learning. 

  • Develop new learning programs. Define program objectives, design, and develop curriculum that includes a blended approach to learning that includes coaching, classroom training, experiential learning, storytelling, virtual learning, and self-paced learning. Facilitate learning events as required. 

  • Seek, share, and adopt ideas and best practices inside and outside the company to ensure project management learning is aligned to leading practices. 

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: 

Project Management: Knowledge of federal, public sector and commercial project management processes and environments. Maintain professional knowledge; keep abreast of industry changes and trends. 

 

Performance Consulting: Ability to partner and performance consult with business, HR and learning leaders to uncover required skills and capabilities to achieve business strategies. 

 

Results Focus: Drive and determination to achieve objectives and overcome obstacles to deliver results. 

 

Business Acumen: Apply skills and make business-based decisions with data and insights. 

 

Interpersonal Skills: Communicate effectively, build trust, network and partner, and influence stakeholders and others.
