The DES, Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Lean Coach. This position is a critical member of the Division's Strategy and Continuous Improvement team, and supports Administrations throughout the Division to develop, translate, implement, measure and strategically adjust operational initiatives in the context of a comprehensive continuous improvement system.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Work within teams at all levels of the Division to build a culture of continuous improvement.
- Serve as coach to all levels from the employees to Executive Level management.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on child support strategy, operations and process improvement methodologies.
- Develop, implement, evaluate and communicate strategic and operational initiatives that improve child support results.
- Identify, develop, maintain, and communicate metrics to measure the success of each strategic and operational initiative.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
- Lean management methodologies, practices, tools and principles (Value stream mapping, Kaizen, Plan/Do/Check/Act cycle, Gemba, problem solving, leader standard work, 5S+).
- Strategic planning.
- The techniques and principles of project management, process improvement modeling and research techniques.

Skills in:
- Strong capabilities in coaching at various levels of an organization, from the front line to the Executive Leadership level.
- Establishing, developing and maintaining positive, productive relationships with individuals that may have conflicting goals.
- Process improvement.

Ability to:
- Strong capabilities in the ability to work and coach in a change environment.
- Assist teams with prioritizing improvement, make recommendations to functional leaders.
- Teach others and effectively facilitate problem solving discussions and problem solving sessions at all levels including executive levels.

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- Minimum of one (1) year of Lean Six Sigma training and/or certification.
- Experience with child support strategic & operational initiatives, strategic deployment within the Arizona Management System, continuous improvement tools and principles, coaching and mentoring in problem solving methodology, and development of metrics.
- Demonstrated track record of successful improvement efforts.

- Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Retirement:

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
