Job overview:

As the Lead DevOps Engineer, you'll spearhead the optimisation of our software delivery pipelines, enhancing system reliability, performance, and scalability within our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, and QA specialists, you'll drive continuous improvement throughout our software development lifecycle.  

You will also work on the analysis, deployment, and maintenance of various systems for corporate and production usage, working with our department heads to create a streamlined, ideal environment for our developers.

Requirements

  • Considerable exposure to cloud engineering, particularly within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code solutions using YAML, JSON, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Experience in migrating monoliths into Kubernetes.
  • Proficient in creating deployment charts using Helm, with a focus on implementing a GitOps approach, e.g., ArgoCD.
  • Ability to maintain and optimise microservices running on Kubernetes within GCP.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve infrastructure efficiency and reduce costs while ensuring system performance and reliability.
  • Experience in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery processes.
  • Availability for providing out-of-hours coverage as part of the on-call rotation for system monitoring and maintenance.
  • Strong collaboration skills, including the ability to work closely with tech teams to develop infrastructure requirements and ensure alignment with Agile principles.

Benefits

The salary range on offer for this role is £75,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
