As Technical Lead Engineer, provides technical skills  combined with strong leadership skills to articulate architectural direction and solutions to both product stakeholders and the development team.  A full stack engineer with team leadership skills, deep proficiency in general programming languages, frameworks and deployment methodologies who creates applications from concept to finished product with a cloud-first emphasis.
Builds and encourages a collaborative environment while promoting architectural standards of the organization.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Leads a team of developers; oversees development team quality of work, timelines, and project risks without supervision

• Designs, develops, tests, deploys  and supports API-based  systems focusing on industry best practices with a cloud-first emphasis

• May supervise or manage four or fewer employees, and responsible for team's performance; coaches and mentors team members

• Seeks continuous quality improvements for supported products

EDUCATION:
Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Computer Science or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

• 8+ years software development experience

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Required:

• Multiple tools of the full stack covering frontend frameworks, databases and deployments 

• Variety of general programming languages

• Test-Driven Development

• Experience with a variety of database technologies (relational/NoSQL database)

• Containerization ( Docker/Kubernetes)

• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies

• Demonstrated ability to lead small teams or projects

• Ability to solve complex problems, drawing upon creativity, experience, and multiple sources of information

• Communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex or difficult information

Preferred:

• NodeJS

• Terraform/Ansible

Compensation Range:

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
