Perficient currently has a remote career opportunity for a Lead Java Developer for our Custom Product Development Business Unit. This position will be remote located anywhere within the U.S.

  • Participate in technical planning & requirements gathering phases including Design, code, test, troubleshoot, and deployment
  • Collaborate, assist and backup the project Architect in developing a sound web-based application using modern technologies and development of a sound backend source code (server-side)
  • Act as a significant contributor assisting in producing sound (scalable, fault-tolerant, highly available) architecture and high-level design of the systems/solution 
  • Support the Project Manager, Scrum Master and/or Technical lead in building a high-level schedule and resource plan
  • Develop automated functional tests as part of DevOps pipelines
  • Produce associated documentation including data model, software design documents /diagrams.
  • Produce functional (unit, integration, acceptance tests, etc.), non-functional and regression test suites as needed.
  • Ensure implementation, and deployment is done following best practices and client project standards.
  • Conduct code audits and reviews as required.
  • Serve as a senior member of the project team. Provide technical support and leadership in the development and continual improvement of service.
  • Participate in the creation of the WBS and backlog per sprint and assist in project planning.
  • Independently manage assigned tasks
  • Use analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills to resolve issues that arise during the application development, testing and implementation phases.
  • Attend sprint planning, retrospective meetings, daily stand-ups and report technical blockers to the project lead.
  • Passionate coder with a minimum 7 years of application development with participation in technical planning & requirements gathering phases including Design, code, test, troubleshoot, and document engineering software applications.
  • Ensuring that technical software development process is followed on the project, familiar with industry best practices for software development.
  • Develop applications in Java J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate and Oracle
  • Extensive experience with Web-based service and relational (ORACLE DB) and NoSQL DBs (Mongo DB)
  • Experience working in Agile “scrum” Framework.
  • Experience with containers and Kubernetes
  • Strong technical knowledge and analytical abilities
  • Client facing and/or consulting experience is a must.
  • Phenomenal communicators who can explain and present concepts to technical and non-technical audiences alike, including high level decision makers.

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $73,008 to $170,640. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential equity or variable bonus programs.
