Leads Diebold Nixdorf’s (DN) Global Protective Services investigations associated with internal and external incidents. Investigator will be responsible for further identifying and developing the program and overseeing investigations to help protect our personnel, assets and facilities.
The Lead Investigator role is an integral part of the DN Global Protective Services team and is responsible for thoroughly investigating and proactively protecting global corporate and business units, including our employees, assets and facilities, and is vital in ensuring we continually remain in compliance with laws, regulations and requirements.
- Conduct and support investigations of all theft, threats, complaints, and policy violations globally, including the North America, LATAM, EMEA and APAC.
- Identify, supervise and manage detailed and complex investigations involving alleged impropriety or criminal conduct.
- Manage investigative tasks including completion of detailed investigative reports.
- Obtains, assesses, and handles circumstantial, cold, and/or fragmentary evidence and briefs management on the status of these investigations.
- Investigates and cooperates with management to determine if violations have occurred by piecing together evidence uncovered from a variety of sources.
- Develops and presents evidence that reconstructs events, sequences, and time elements.
- Support prompt resolution of security incidents by performing thorough investigations, including interviews, research, and utilization of security systems and tools.
- Maintain accurate and detailed case files, reports, and any required documentation to meet investigations standards and protect from legal liability.
- Plans, organizes, and conducts difficult, sensitive and comprehensive investigations of alleged or suspected violations of regulations, policy and procedures; and assesses direct and indirect variables to determine the appropriate investigative procedures, services, or techniques to use.
- Develops and recommends innovative ways to accomplish operations and investigations for varied and complex factual situations, taking into account regulations, statutes, policies and procedures; and develops and/or redesigns new methods, approaches, or criteria to meet the investigative demands of complex cases or a particular issue under investigative review.
- Build, support and maintain positive partnerships with internal teams and key stakeholders, including Field Services, Human Resources, Facilities, Legal and other.
- Experience in utilization of video surveillance and access control systems, relative to supporting resolution of investigations.
- Expert in exception-based reporting and monitoring for compliance concerns.
- Collaborate on and influence policy and procedure globally.
- Create, support and maintain partnerships with local, state, and federal law enforcement through case assistance.
- Utilize exception-based reporting and case management system to produce reporting and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive resolution and trend analysis to proactively protect people, asses and facilities.
- Provides advanced analysis and/or specialized reporting.
- Leads the review and development of all documentation, such as policies, procedures and standards. Research, review and maintain expertise on requirements, standards, and regulations.
- Expected to exercise sound and expert independent professional judgment and discretion in interacting and communicating with staff and senior management with respect to investigations and confidential information.
- Assists with conducting risk assessments.
- Conduct other assigned duties as needed or requested.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Investigations.
- Aptitude and training in conducting internal investigations and interviews.
- Professional role requiring in-depth knowledge/expertise in investigations, processes and continuous improvement processes, and working knowledge of broader related areas.
- Good business English skills (Written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Basic and advanced interview training.
- Professional Certification.
- Knowledge of physical security requirements associated with investigations.
- Experience of working with data, driving analytics and reporting.
- Demonstrated relationship building skills.
- Proficient in all MS Office products with an emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Teams
Travel: up to 15% travel required (may increase during peak periods based on needs of company)
Salary Range: $55,000 to $70,000. Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including your qualifications, skills, competencies, geographic location, internal equity, and relevant experience.
